First. The quality and the packaging of the product is excellent. The carrying bag is large enough that you don't have to roll and re-roll the tent super tightly. The packaging indicated it takes 1 minute to set up after initial try. That is very true. The instruction's diagram is useless because the diagram does not resemble what it looks like. So use the photo that is shown on the packaging and your own common sense. My initial attempt base on the instruction manual caused me to set the tent up inside out. After I look at the photo, I tried it again, and it was up within one minute. So don't get frustrated if you can't get it right at first. After you get it right, you'll get it up very quickly every single time. I have not tried it on the beach yet. So I can't review the stakes. I love how wide it is. It can fit my family of 5 easily (2 adults and 3 small kids on the back row if you don't use beach chair). The back flap gives you a window to the backside for view and air circulation to prevent the tent from blowing over from strong wind (assuming the wind is coming from the front or back) The photo on Amazon doesn't quite depict the wideness of the front side. It really will give you a good viewing-angle when you want to see the ocean. The umbrella-like mechanism of the frames is very sturdy even though it is plastic. (Core of the frame may be metal) When you set it up, you extend the frames out and the knob will lock into the hole. So that mechanism is truly like an umbrella. I think it is worth $70 considering the quality and the ease of set-up. The UV protection of 50 rating is a nice plus. NEW COMMENT: Just got back from the beach. The plastic sticks did great. Even though it is plastic, it is thick enough that make them unbendable. They may seem short at about 6-7" long but theyt do work. We had very calm wind but if I didn't use the stakes, my tent would move. There are sand pockets for you to weigh it down but we had cooler and other stuff that acted like weights. Had 2 guys made nice comments about it and wanted to know where to purchase it.

This tent did only take 1 minute to set up and it stood up to 30 mph winds. Spend the extra 10 dollars so you don't ever have to mess with tent poles at the beach.

This beach tent is wonderful! It is large enough to fit 2 people with some extra room. It is so nice to be able to get out of the sun for a while but still stay at the beach. I even got caught in the rain at the beach and didn't get wet! :) It's really easy to put up and I am able to do it alone. The window in the back is really nice and lets a breeze threw. I would recommend this tent 100%!

This tent is easy and such a great size. Do a test set-up in your house. For whatever reason, you will want to set it up in-side out. Once you figure that out, you are golden. This tent is awesome. Perfect for a child to take a nap on the beach too!!
