1.0 out of 5 stars 2 in a row, each didn't last one full night
Sadly, the title says it all. I love Coleman air mattresses- I've slept on them every night for months. I previously bought the one from Costco and had great success. But I have now bought 2 of these lovely brown Quickbeds, two days in a row, and 2 nights in a row now I have ended up on the floor. Costco must sell a higher end one because this Quickbed just isn't...

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick Cheap Solution, November 1, 2006
This review is from: Coleman Queen-Sized Quickbed with Wrap 'N' Roll Storage (Sports)
If you are looking for a bed you can take with you camping in the summer and to relatives homes any time of the year, this bed works fairly well for short term use and is a quick and cheap solution. I find the Coleman beds last quite a long time, even though you will eventually find yourself on the floor due to the many problems that can occur with placing an airbed on the floor. For one, sharp objects will easily puncture the bed and this includes playful cats tossing about toys near the bed or like my cat loves to do, pushing a cat toy under the bed and retrieving it again.

I've lost two beds this way, but this can be solved by placing a thick mattress cover over the bed. Sharp objects under the carpet may also puncture the bed although this bed has an exclusive PVC and the airtight system is guaranteed not to leak. I find that we deflate this bed in the morning and inflate it again at night, so this isn't really a problem, although after two days, you may notice air has leaked out a little bit more than you expect.

The comfortsmart coil system helps the bed to conform to your body for better support, which means you might like this bed better than a regular mattress. In my short lifetime I've purchased quite a few of these beds and more expensive doesn't mean more comfortable. To be honest, this is more comfortable than the Aero beds with the pillow top.

If the bed looses air, you might want to take a look at the inflation instructions where it shows the internal seal and the internal yellow post and how you can completely seal the valve in a two-step process.

"Air temperature and weather do affect the air pressure in inflatable products. In cold weather your airbed will lose some pressure due to the fact that the air will contract."

So, to avoid this happening, we use a heating blanket on the bed.

One thing I will say about Coleman, they stand by
their warranty. With Aero, I found it difficult
to even return a bed or to find a return address
at their site.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy on Air and Wallet, August 11, 2008
This review is from: Coleman Queen-Sized Quickbed with Wrap 'N' Roll Storage (Sports)
Bought this for friends staying the night. Bought it from Target, on sale, was ~20$ and I bought a Greatland electric airpump ~18$ (many other pumps require charging 12 hrs before use, watch out for this! Also, this pump has 3 adjustable nozzles, so it worked with Coleman bed just fine).

This bed was very comfortable and didn't leak. It is suede-flocked, but I put an extra fowm pad on top and a mattress pad over that. It comes with an attached wrap/holder for the deflated mattress. The air intake valve is a neat design, lets you stop airflow out before removing the pump, so air doesn't whoosh out when you're done pumping. ((Greatland basic line beds, unlike this Coleman, have an extra mouth-nozzle because they don't have this airstop valve. So this bed required no extra hassle with mouth-blowing extra air in because of poor engineering!)

I made a brief foray into air mattress quality websites and reviews before buying this, and realized that high quality and height and auto-deflate etc only really mattered if I was going to sleep on this bed all the time. (I'm not, but these are things to consider if you are!!) Just from previous camping/overnight general use, I've found that the biggest difference in comfort is in having something warm on top of the mattress (thick mattress pad or foam layer underneath), so I did that and the sleepers said it was great.

Not sure how long it will last, but at ~20$ it was cheap and did it's job nicely. Plus, I got the funky brown/tan color which was fittingly retro for an airbed in the living room set-up...

5.0 out of 5 stars Got exactly what I wanted, August 14, 2009
This review is from: Coleman Queen-Sized Quickbed with Wrap 'N' Roll Storage (Sports)
Obviously, you are not buying a two thousand dollar queen size bed. But, this queen size air mattress is exactly what I hoped it would be. I use it in my home for overnight guests, and it is very comfortable! The soft top holds the sheets in place and provides additional comfort. It inflates and deflates within minutes, and it folds up easily to take up small storage space. Great buy for the money!

I have used this bed a few times visiting in-laws as well as camping and have found it very reliable and comfortable. Just make sure you inflate it all the way.

1.0 out of 5 stars Design flaw... 2 out of 2 failed. Too bad, nice mattress, October 9, 2010
This review is from: Coleman Queen-Sized Quickbed with Wrap 'N' Roll Storage (Sports)
First off, when I first purchased this mattress, I loved it. It held air great, was affordable, comfortable, folds up nicely into a small bag, has a warm flocked top, and fits well in my tent. However, the first mattress, after the second use, failed to hold air. Thinking it was just a fluke, I bought another one, and discovered a design flaw. On the sides of this mattress are little hard ovals, that have clips attached. The problem is, when folding the mattress up, these little ovals have sharp edges, and they cut into the mattress, puncturing the sides.
Even when I would try to carefully fold them so they wouldn't crease on the clips, they still dug in, and punctured. This last trip, I tried repairing them about 4 times, but all times, they failed, and we awoke on the cold, hard ground.

If there were no clips involved, I would give this product five stars for its other features.
I really hope they fix this problem, as it's a sweet little product for car camping, affordable and portable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware, June 2, 2010

I bought two of these mattresses. The first one lasted one night -- hole in the seam. The second one lasted four nights -- hole in the seam. Both were used on carpet in our basement by adults (who are not overweight) with no other obstructions around. I tried to use a patch kit -- didn't work. Of course, I can't find the receipt to send it to Coleman under the warranty, which is the route you're supposed to go if there's a problem. A $60.00 lesson learned.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Coleman Queen-Sized Quickbed with Wrap 'N' Roll Storage (Sports)
I purchased 2 of these beds in August while making plans for a September camping trip. One of the beds functioned properly. Unfortunately, I had the other bed. We were camping at Sequoia Nat Park where the overnight lows dropped down to the 30s. This was the very first time the bed was used and it went flat overnight, leaving me to attempt to sleep on the cold, hard ground. Needless to say, I had a miserable night. Fortunately I was able to save the trip by paying top dollar to purchase another bed from the Lodgepole gift store. To make matters worse, Amazon's return policy states that I'll only receive a partial credit for the bed because the window for return has expired. If you decide to purchase the bed despite the negative reviews, I strongly recommend that you test for air tightness at the time you receive it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lasted 5 nights., September 5, 2010

I used this mattress for family camping and took great care to make sure that there is no sharp objects underneath nor on top of the mattress every time. Was able to (manually) pump the mattress up to good firmness.

Just last week, the mattress started to leak air from the top of the mattress. The seams on the ring-like pattern ripped and lost all air. Good thing we had Therm-a-Rest as back-up.

Poor construction and poor durability.

Thumbs down.

I don't know if its a bad batch or what but within 3 hours of inflation it needs to be topped off again. This is with no weight on it at all. I returned that one for another and the same issue.
