Coleman Quickbed with MP3 Speakers and Built-In 4D Pump (Queen)

We have used this product for over a year - several times for camping, and other times for people who slept over at our home. At first, it was a really good bed but over time, it quickly disintegrated. The speaker went out first, the pump was not pumping as fast or as effectively, and finally, there were leaks. I can't complain too much because it lasted for awhile and we paid only $40 at the time. At final count, this puts us at approximately $3 each night before it went to air mattress heaven. Not bad. I got enough use out of it to make that purchase worth while. Still, I think I will move on to something sturdier and less likely to fall apart after a year (and past that warranty, no less!).

For anyone who needs to listen to music in bed, this is the perfect air mattress for you. With built in ipod speakers, there is no reason to bring expensive ipod speakers with you--this bed has them. This bed is queen sized, which can be a problem if you are going camping and your partner isn't. In fact, I probably will be giving my bed away to my married brother because it's just too big for my upcoming camping trip--it won't fit into the tent I'm buying. As a single layer bed, you are a little close to the ground--which can be a problem for some and may or may not meet your needs. And during the night, you may need to turn the built in air pump on one or two times because, like many air beds, it does lose air sometimes.

But what gives it a four star rating is the built in speakers, the built in air pump, and the easy deflation. These are the conveniences that separate this air bed from a basic coleman air bed of the same size and dimensions and why you want to buy this one. Most air beds leak some. And of course I clearly need a twin size air bed to fit in the tent I'm buying. But what got me to buy this was the air pump and ipod speakers and these work extremely well. The music quality is quite good from the speakers and it's a good value over buying a separate ipod music system to fall asleep to. For that alone, I reccomend this product.

I used this once so far for camping, and am now looking for an alternative. The air pump is a bit weak - it fills and deflates quickly, but isn't powerful enough to really firm the mattress up. I found that I needed to run the pump for a bit each night to keep at least some pressure in it. I haven't used the built in speaker (notice I used the singular, not the plural) yet, but purchased that feature for the kids - who this mattress is best suited for.

My husband and I bought this mattress last fall for a camping trip. We really enjoyed it. The built in pump worked great. Very fast inflate and deflate. All in all it is a typical air mattress. Nothing I would use to sleep on every night, but for overnight guests and camping trips it's perfect.

As for the built in speakers, we loved it. It is not loud enough to have music at your whole campsite. But it is just enough to kill the complete silence when you are trying to sleep. We have two boys (2 and 7) and it perfect for them. It helps them fall right to sleep when we are camping.

I think you can't go wrong for the price, and it really is good quality.

I bought this air bed for use when I camp out at the beach. I bought it becuase of the built in pump. I have had other beds where you have to used a seperate pump and wanted this one since the pump was built in. Nothing is worst then going camping and getting your air bed out to pump and forgetting your pump. So the built in pump is nice. The first time I used this bed it worked perfect. Me and a friend shared it and it did not leak one bit. The second time I used it, I noticed that it had developed a slow leak but wasnt too bad. I figured if I can get at least ten uses out of it, then I will have got my moneys worth. I highly reconmend that if when you go to let the air out, pull the plug to get the majority of the air out and then plug it back, turn the pump on deflate as you fold the bed up and you will get more air out, and not use up the batteries for the pump. Overall I think this bed is ok, but I wouldnt expect to get years use out of it, but for around $40-50 you get your moneys worth.

This inflates and deflates so quickly at the flip of the switch! We used it camping for a week and it was wonderful. Very comfortable. This one has the built in MP3 speakers but I have not tried them yet.

I bought this to go camping and it has withstood the abuse of us crawling on it, the dog plopping in the middle, the tossing and turning of a child and the dirt and rocks that tend to come with camping. The iPod speakers worked wonderfully and the bed doesn't lose that much air in the night (even with me, my dog and my son on it). I do have to re-inflate before we turn in the next night, but the pump works quickly. I've had this for more than a year and it works the same as it did when I first bought it. I paid $80 for another one only to have it die tragically with less abuse. I was happy to have paid a lot less for this and have it take so much abuse. My only issues with it are the same I have for all air beds. My hips hurt after a while and I have to sleep on my back. I have to provide lots of padding to keep cold air from freezing me from underneath. But those issues are true of all air beds so I can't really complain.

There are lots of bad air beds out there; likely the majority. I trusted Coleman (until now), so gave it a shot during a temporary requirement for a portable bed. One person slept on it.

It was reasonably comfortable as air beds go, although "flat top" models are more bed-like, as the dimples where the "coils" are located make valleys (as all similarly designed beds of this type do).

Used inside, so it was not handled roughly. Inflated well and quickly, although I was disappointed that 4 D batteries (required) were not included. It did lose some air, but not as much as others. Topping up happened every 4 or 5 days.

There is a vinyl smell for the first week or so, but is not overpowering. The carrying case is useless, as it is impossible to get the thing folded down to the size as shipped by the factory.

The killer: 1 coil let go in the middle of the bed after 2 weeks' use. Then 4 more did the same over the next week, leaving only 2 very narrow sections at the sides to sleep on, with a volcano-like mound in the middle.

I bought it at a "big box" store with a 30 day return policy, so got lucky there.

Avoid.

It lasted about 4 hours before it deflated. It was great waking up on the ground during a 3 week camping trip

We purchased two of these mattresses, 18 months ago. Like clockwork they BOTH stopped working. I would think that we had done something to them except one of the two mattresses was in storage and had been used a total of twice. Brand new batteries and neither one of them will work. Called Coleman, they had me look at the manufacture date (apparently they had been at the store for 2 years before I bought them) anyway Coleman will do nothing to help me with them. They do not have parts for them and so I have $180 worth of garbage. (What kind of company bases their warranty off manufacture date?) Also made for a miserable trip, do not depend on Coleman for anything. Coleman used to mean quality now it just means junk.
