Used it for the very first time on a weekend camping trip. The plastic handle on the spatula broke apart after about 10 minutes. It's not like I was using it to pry rocks apart...just using it to flip burgers on a grill! Very unhappy at any product that fails miserably at it's primary purpose after a single use. Coleman is one of the largest names in camping gear so very surprised they would put their name on such an incredibly cheap product. Very disappointed.

What a great concept they had. Extendable BBQ utensiles that fit inside a zippered case for storage and carrying. The one problem with this kit is the tongs don't fully touch each other or touch each other with enough force to keep traction on the food your handling. Obviously, this makes BBQ with the tongs a weee bit difficult. And when I say "a weee bit" I mean annoying as hell.

If space is at a premium, then this may be worth it. If its not, take a pass.

I bought a Coleman Road Trip Grill and this grill tool set popped up as a potential purchase after I selected the Grill. So, this was an "impulse buy" for me. These are fine grill tools and I keep them in the storage box where I have my BBQ/grill gear. So, this is a nice, "fun" item but not a necessary item to purchase. Most of us already have grill gear we can use or we could buy less expensive gear at the grocery story or Big Box store.

I had the same experience as nhayden. On the very first outing, these fell apart when flipping burgers over a small grill. The plastic handle and telescoping mechanism is worthless. Now I just carry the metal spatula end without a handle, as I hunt for a new solution for next football season.

I scratched my grille with them the first time I used them. Not made for nonstick surface. I was very careful. I will use with my large bbq that won't scratch.

I ordered these thinking they would be convenient for camping. Love the idea of being able to neatly store them in a protective case as well as being able to extend the utensils when cooking over flames. The item arrived and it was clear I'd never use this very bulky and cheaply built product. Despite reading negative reviews on Amazon, I ordered anyway. They're on their way back to Amazon. The products are made of very sharp metal so don't buy these if you use coated cooking surfaces such as Coleman's cooking stoves with grills or griddles. It will tear up the protective coating. You're better off picking up a smaller, more compact item from Target or Ikea. As another user said, "I'm surprised Coleman put their name on this product." I'm surprised too.

These get 3 stars for the cool carrying case, and the spatula. The tongs aren't very good and tend to want to offset each other when closed, causing whatever you are picking up with them to feel like you're going to lose it at any second. When you extend them, it is even worse.

The spatula works fine, even when it's extended. The plastic handles feel cheap and I am sure they would melt if too close to any heat source.

I'm probably going to replace the tongs with ones that are better and more durable.

I expected more from Coleman. I got less.

This set is OK. It would be infinitely better if it included a grill scrubber/brush! That is an item everyone with a grill should have, so I don't know why a "Grill Tool Set" does not include one. We are new to grilling, so didn't realize we needed a grill brush until we actually wanted to use our grill multiple times! I actually had tools in my kitchen that would take the place of these ones easily, but I had nothing that would take the place of a grill brush and this set did not include one sadly...
