Surprisingly not-so-good,

This review is from: Coleman Stainless Steel 1-Person Mess Kit (Sports)
As the happy owner of a Coleman ProCat heater, Coleman dual-burner Propane Camp Stove and Coleman battery-powered Retro fluorescent lantern, I trusted that the Coleman Stainless Steel 1-person mess kit would be a good addition to my emergency/bug-out/camping gear.
What a surprise it was to see that the wing-nut doesn't screw down tight enough on the fry pan handle to hold the fry pan securely. The pan is free to waggle about 1/2" from side to side. Then, once I fixed that shortfall with a small bolt washer I (thankfully) had, I was even more disappointed to see that once you assemble the kit for transport, the handle doesn't fit on the pan/plate assmbly tightly enough to keep the whole thing from sliding apart. Contributing to this is the sloppy fit between the plate and pan. A little bending of the handle at the middle and end made the fit a little better, but it still isn't right. Also the wing nut has no stop at the end of its bolt, so it's free to unscrew all the way off and get lost. The Good Parts: The small pot and lid that are nested inside the kit are OK. The 1-cup capacity plastic red cup has 3 lines inside and markings for 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 cup. The pot with lid hold about 3 cups of liquid and are good for their intended purpose. The whole kit goes into a red nylon carry-bag with an easy to operate push-to-slide closure. That's a good thing, too, because when everything falls apart it's still going to be in the red bag. Except perhaps the wing nut and bolt. In conclusion, the overall feel of this set, as well as the fit are not in line with the price or the Coleman reputation. A better price point would be about fifty percent of the current retail MSRP. IMO, keep shopping- there must be a better deal than this one.
