5.0 out of 5 stars Great for camping
I received this as a xmas gift from my husband, and I absolutely love it. We are frequent campers, and until this stove I have used a hand-me-down from my in-laws that must be at least 20 years old. Cooking on this stove makes me feel like I am at home, in my kitchen. The cooking space is much larger than most, and the flame seems more adjustable than others (not just...

3.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware of Warranty
I purchased this item thinking it had a "Limited Lifetime Warranty"- After receiving the item the box and literature clearly states a 5 year warranty. I contacted Amazon and Coleman and they confirmed it did only carry a 5 year warranty. According to two Amazon reps. "Limited lifetime means somewhere between 5 and 9 years" I sure hope my lifetime is longer than THAT...

Cooking on this stove makes me feel like I am at home, in my kitchen. The cooking space is much larger than most, and the flame seems more adjustable than others (not just HI or LO heat). The push-start is A MUST. I highly recommend this stove for any outdoor cooking use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Car Camper, December 31, 2006

I like the stove very much. At 30,000 BTU it gets things going pretty quickly. There are 4 reasons why I only give it 4 stars. #1 There are smaller units that put out 50,000 BTU. #2 It is quite heavy. #3 It doesn't open easily (though that may be a problem with just mine.) #4 Coleman doesn't have a carrying case to protect the finish from dents and dings. Having said all of that, I have used a number of comparable units and I would still buy this one again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased!, May 5, 2008

We received our stove today and are very happy. It arrived in record time. It is larger than we thought it would be and is a new modern design. We were surprised to see that ours arrived with a full size griddle as a bonus. We bought ours on the daily deal special for $79...great buy! Thanks Amazon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Camping Queen!, July 21, 2008
This review is from: Coleman Two-Burner Power Pack Stove (Sports)
I just got back from Camping and I used my stove for the first time. Everyone around me was envious. My only complaint is that it is a little tricky to open but I may tinker with the latch and see if I can fix that. The griddle worked great, I made pancakes, Sausage patties, hash browns... It was wonderful. The two burners worked great. I ended up cooking for the other camp sites as well because it cooked so much better and faster then the other stoves that were around. All and all I would defiantly buy this again. I know some people are saying that it is heavy and bulky, but when you are looking for a quality stove to get the job done the last thing you want is a small light weight flimsy one. If you are looking for your typical little camping stove then this one is not for you. However if you are looking for a stove that will make you feel like you are cooking at home and get the job done right, then I would hands down recommend this one. This is one of those products that is well worth the investment as I don't see this stove breaking any time soon, and so far I think its worth every penny!

EXCELLENT PURCHASE! I was replacing an old Coleman camp stove that was stolen by mid-town inbreds and stumbled upon this unbelievable deal on-line. I nearly bought a smaller, more expensive Coleman unit here in town and was confused how this offer could look so good. It is. The price has gone up ten bucks in the last week SO DO NOT WAIT. Buy it even if you are homeless. It is better than sliced aspirin. Those complaining about the weight and/or finicky latch (in previous reviews) should seek counseling.
Snazzy red enamel scares away bears.
Compact, efficient design attracts
tragically hip camp groupies seeking caffeine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great stove, but it's huge., August 12, 2008

I bought this without looking to see how big it was. It's huge! Compared to the standard two burner camping stoves, this thing is a monster.

It works great. With the griddle, we cooked 12 1/4lb hamburgers at once, in about 3 minutes, with the thing barely turned past "light". We cooked two dinners and two breakfasts and used 1-1/2 canisters of fuel, so it does seem to use more than smaller units, but it does cook quickly.

One thing that's really annoying is it won't stand upright. The handle in the front is good for picking it up, but you can't set it down on its back, it just falls over. The rounded sides mean it won't stand on its side either. With the big "feet" sticking out, it takes up even more space in the trunk. I'm going to put some brackets on the back so it will stand upright (like a briefcase). I'm thinking of removing the big plastic feet, and seeing if I can just put in some adjustable feet so I can easily level it.

It's a great stove when you have a lot of people. I got it primarily for car camping trips where we have 6 or more people. Good for for bbqs when you need more than one grill. Probably overkill for car camping for two, but if you do a lot of outdoor cooking for groups, it's a great stove.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gourmet Stove, July 2, 2008

Awesome stove. We've become the gourmet kitchen at the campground. Only drawback is opening it. But with my husbands slight modification it works great. We are very happy to have this stove with us. It's even better than our stove at home.

I have used the smaller Coleman stoves for many years, NOTHING can compare w/this stove, it is great. People who complained about it using a small bottle of propane to soon, I connected a 12 ft. LP approved hose to my 20 lb bottle, problem solved, The cooking time is fast because it has a two stage regulator (red for high pressure) If you want a stove that gets the job done then buy this one. I am a happy camper using this stove. Thanks for a great quality stove and for a great price. I love it.!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Real great value at Amazon's price--$43.61, September 12, 2008

The price did drop down a little bit more, at 39.25 a few days after I purchased it. I still think it's a great value, no matter. I was just awed when it came. But then, I also agree... wait... wait... wait some more... the price is slowly dropping again since it went up to $91.00+ last weekend. I know we'll enjoy camping more now than we did before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great car camping stove!!, July 15, 2008
This review is from: Coleman Two-Burner Power Pack Stove (Sports)
This camping stove blows away my traditional 2 burner coleman camping stove. The push button ignition works like a charm and I've got coffee brewing in what seems like minutes after waking up! The included griddle works really well too! We cooked french toast for breakfast and had panini for lunch and both were delicious! Easy to clean.

I can think of two cons -- 1) it's size, it takes up a lot of space when packing and it's quite heavy and 2) it burns through a 16.4-ounce propane cylinder rather quickly. I think we only got two meals and some coffee and tea out of one cylinder, however, we were cooking as if we were at home and feeding 8 people...

Definitely a great buy! Has holes on the underside for legs, which would be great for tailgating or even in the backyard!
