4.0 out of 5 stars Long lasting Ice Cooler, November 15, 2008

This is an rather expensive large cooler. Although it holds ice longer than the other coolers, I have previously purchased. 4 days seems to be the best so far with ice, cold water afterwards. Keep out of the sun. Fill with as much ice as possible. Solidly built and would buy it again. It' s great for weekend storage of cold items backyard and/or road trips. Amazon delivered it in great shape.

I purchased this cooler and took it camping at beach for a week. I filled the cooler with two 25lb blocks of ice and two gallon size ziplock bags with ice cubes. I prechilled all the beverages before hand as instructed . Throughout the week I added additional (non chilled) beverages . After seven days I still had plenty of ice left and every thing inside was cold . I did not drain the water as suggested (I think this really helped maintain a colder temperature). Three other parties in our group had new Coleman 70 quart extreme coolers (Coleman's cheaper model), and their ice was melted after three days . I definitely would recommend this cooler, especially if you are not able to replenish your ice easily .

5.0 out of 5 stars great cooler, April 15, 2010

Everything has been durable so far and it keeps ice amazingly well. Used it on a weekend camping trip and when we got home I left it on the porch with the remaining ice in it for a little test. Now it wasn't too hot and it only recieved 3-4 hours of sun a day so it wasn't a high stress test, but the ice lasted from Thursday when we left until Saturday of the next week. Wow.

5.0 out of 5 stars ICE ICE BABY, February 28, 2010

This ice chest kept ice for over a week under my patio. I bought this because I have the 50 qt version and It impressed me when I took it camping to the beach last summer. The sides are about 2 inches thick so don't be surprised when you look inside and it seems smaller than usual. Your drinks will still be swimming with the ice cubes, even days later, instead of just bobbing aimlessly in the water of a regular ice chest.

Got here fast and is exactly what we wanted. The dimensions were listed in the product description and were accurate. The top fits VERY tightly - which is good - but can be hard to open when empty. :)

Everything seems sturdy. The long handle and wheels work great. Would do it again - so far.

I purchased this cooler to hold ice and drinks for a party we were having at our house. This is much more expensive then coolers that are about 12-22 quarts smaller but having a nice sized cooler that holds everything seemed worth the extra money. I would have given this 5 stars if the price was under $100. I really holds a great amount of beer, soft drinks and ice.
I put about 100 pounds of ice in along with several cases of beverages. The outdoor temperature was in the mid to high 80's with the cooler placed in the shade. I decided to monitor the ice and see how long it would hold out during and after the party for my review here. The ice kept all day during the party. There was still a fair amount of ice 2 days later. On the third day the ice was really starting to go but the water was VERY cold and about the cooler had about 20% of the ice left. On the 4th day there was no longer any ice and the water temperature was starting to moderate but still very cool.
This cooler is well made and was easy to roll around with a full load. It has a large handle that is easy to use, everything so far has been sturdy and up to my expectations.
