Do not buy this piece of junk.

The thermometer scale seems misaligned and/or too variable to be accurate.

This broke when I took it out of the package (I wasn't being rough). So I took it back and got another. I attached it to the zipper of my backpack and the thing broke when I loaded up my car! So dang fragile, so dang worthless.

When we travel we often are interested in the temperature and in which direction we are going. This is a small object that we can keep on our person all the time and get the answer to these two questions. It's perfect for us.

My niece was very excited to get this and she became frustrated very soon. Unfortunately this fell apart in just a short time. I was very disappointed with this item.

Doesn't absorb shock well, chain is weak. Don't even expect this to last a week. The plastic splits apart when it slaps against something hard

The thermometer scale seems misaligned and/or too variable to be accurate. Compared to a digital thermometer of decent accuracy, this was reading 7F low (around 60F) to 6F high (around 10F). You can't just add a fixed number to correct it. Being sealed inside plastic might affect the bulb's sensitivity.

But the compass seems accurate enough compared to a full sized one. I haven't tested it for sturdiness and wouldn't be surprised it if didn't hold up well. I'd mainly use it as a cheap, small compass. Amazon's "Mini Portable Thermometer Compass Magnifying Glass Keychain Ring" seems like the same general product with an extra feature.

two small to read scale easily, but works fine. The compass is also only able to give a general direction, but also works fine. For the $0.01 it cost, well worth the price.
