Book Description

April 4, 2006 7 and up2 and upEoin Colfer's Legend Of...
After surviving a summer with the legendary ninja librarian Spud Murphy, not much can scare brothers Will and Marty Woodman. Until, that is, they travel with their family to the small seaside town famous for its resident ghost. Legend has it that when the sea glows at night, pirate Captain Augustine Crow haunts the shore searching for a new cabin boy. Of course, nine-year-old Will knows this can't be true. But one night, he is out late, and the sea is lit with an eerie glow…and, is that a ghostly voice calling his name?

More About the Author

Eoin Colfer (pronounced Owen) is the New York Times best-selling author
of the blockbuster Artemis Fowl series as well as Airman; Half Moon
Investigations; The Supernaturalist; Eoin Colfer's Legend of... books;
The Wish List; Benny and Omar; and Benny and Babe. He was born in
Wexford on the southeast coast of Ireland in 1965, where he and his four
brothers were brought up by his father (an elementary school teacher,
historian and artist of note) and mother (a drama teacher). He first
developed an interest in writing in primary (elementary) school with
gripping Viking stories inspired by history that he was learning in
school at the time.

Eoin got his degree from Dublin University and qualified as a primary
school teacher, returning to work in Wexford. He married in 1991 and he
and his wife spent about 4 years between 1992 and 1996 working in Saudi
Arabia, Tunisia and Italy. His first book, Benny and Omar, was published
in 1998, based on his experiences in Tunisia; it has since been
translated into many languages; a sequel followed in 1999. In 2001, the
first Artemis Fowl book was published worldwide to much success -
shortly thereafter he left teaching to concentrate fully on his writing.
To this day, Eoin has written 6 Artemis Fowl books which have sold over
12 million copies worldwide.

5.0 out of 5 stars these are good books!, August 11, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Eoin Colfer's Legend of Captain Crow's Teeth (Paperback)
I rilly like these books. The part in the third book I like the most is when Marty took Will in the middle of the road and Will follows the line in the new road then his mom sees him in the middle of the road and she chases Will and she catches him and Marty gets in big trouble. In the second book the part I like the most is when Will has to dance with a girl and the girl that he got said what happend to your hair and Will said what happend to your fase so the girl punched him in the sholder. The part in the first book I like the most is when Spud Murfy gives Marty a stamp on the sholder and he was so happy.

(Mom writing now) My son has had a hard time learning to read well and it's been a struggle finding books that he can read, but that will also hold his interest. I read about this book in the New York Times and thought it was right up his alley. I bought all three and he read them in a week - a feat for him! He laughed and laughed and enjoyed them very much. They have just the right humor for the 7 to 11-year-old and I highly recommend this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Eoin Colfer's Legend of Captain Crow's Teeth, January 10, 2007

This review is from: Eoin Colfer's Legend of Captain Crow's Teeth (Paperback)
This book is a big hit with my students and is so much fun as I read aloud! The main characters, brothers Will and Marty, continue to grab and hold on to my listeners' attention, just as they did in Mr. Colfer's first book in the series, "Spud Murphy." "Spud Murphy" is a five star review!!!
