This product has really seemed to help my 5 week old daughter. She was born fussy but became even more so at about 2 weeks old. I wouldn't say she truly has colic but she never seems satisfied and she does gets extremely fussy in the evenings. She has severe gas and gets the hiccups almost every bottle...those send her over the edge. It does offer immeidate relief of her hiccups.
Sometimes Colic Calm seems to help and sometimes it doesn't. I think when she is truly uncomfortable; it does help. Times that it doesn't help, I think it just may be her personality to be fussy.
One day I ate some leftovers from a resturant and got the worst stomachache so I decided to try some and I had almost immediate relief. I was sold after that. It has a great taste but the color is pretty freaky.

I think this is a good product and I just ordered my second bottle. This is the only FDA approved gripe water, which made me feel more comfortable giving it to her. When I read the ingredients on some of the other gripe waters, I noticed some that aren't exactly safe for babies.

Some of its drawbacks are that it is a terrible color and turns their poop funny colors an stains clothes but being able to relieve some of my baby's discomfort is well worth it.

When i started to realize that the constant crying and sleepless nights with my newborn and first born was not normal i talked to our pediatrician who started treating him for acid reflux (GER). After fighting with our insurance to cover the prescription for Previcid in the first place, the struggle then became trying to get the medicine down. I already had a baby who was not eating/gaining weight and there i was giving him syringe after syringe of water trying to get the "not so soluble" tablet in his system. the whole experience was leaving me uber stressed and feeling like an exhausted failure. I came across the website for colic calm while looking for homeopathic treatments touting to provide acid reflux relief as well as colic. honestly i am not big on the idea of giving my kid something that our pediatrician had not even heard of but with the FDA stamp on it i felt somewhat better about trying it. At first i wouldnt say i was all that convinced but by the end of the week he was sleeping and eating like never before. suddenly the crying seemed managable like i had expected going into parenthood and the fact he was really eating for the first time made me feel a lot better about myself too. my husband was not so sold on giving the credit to the colic calm until we ran out and the delivery from amazon was delayed. 24 hours after his last dose and we were back to being up all night with a screaming baby.

couple things to note from what i read in other reviews. first i was prepared for the staining everyone complained about but really havent had a big problem with it. yes is is messy, and if you drip it directly on something and just leave it- yes when you wash the item you will get a faint gray stain but even that is hardly noticable. most of the time even his white onsies dont show a stain. i have yet to see it stain skin. usually i will feed him after ward to wash it out of his mouth. otherwise the charcaol shows up in his drool for a bit.

poop is a hideous color with distinctive specks of charcoal but dont let it alarm you, 24 hours off it and poop goes right back to normal.

use the syringe that comes in the box. give a little bit at a time (takes me about 5 squirts to give him the 1/4 tsp dose) and choking is not an issue. i also point it toward his cheek so that it doesnt just go down his throat gagging him. When i tried an eye dropper type dispenser he gagged it all back out. Now he really doesnt mind getting his dose and even smiles through it.

at this point i am no longer giving him the prevacid and using only about 2 doses a day- sometimes more if he gets the hiccups (which go away instantly when you give the colic calm) or he is fussy. one bottle last about 3 weeks.

After researching this product on the web, I decided to buy this for my sister's 3 week old baby who is suffering from chronic reflux. All i can say is that this product is an instant relief for my nephew. I cannot explain how fast & effective it is for him. I knew from prior reviews that it was black in colour & to be quite honest i wouldn't have cared about staining so long as it worked! I also hasten to add that my nephew loved the taste & we laughed at his black happy smile! I will be purchasing more bottles to take back to Italy, it really is a magical potion that I will recommend 100%

This product is heaven sent!!! It works for fussiness, gas, hiccups, reflux. For my baby it even reduces the AMOUNT of spit up that she puts out. She likes the taste, it works quickly, it's natural, I just love it. Just be careful, it can be a little messy and is a very dark liquid, so be sure to have a burp rag handy when administering.

My son screamed for hours and hours every night for about 2 months. Then I found this product and thought that I would atleast try it. After the first dose he stopped crying almost immediately! Since using it he has become a very happy baby.

Just used this project for my 4 1/2 month old. She has increasingly been getting angry after each feeding. I suspect it's because I'm starting to wean her on to formula for when I go back to work, and we just started feeding her rice cereal a few days ago too. However, she has always been somewhat fussy with breastmilk, and the thickness of the formula seemed to help. It's hard to figure out babies!! She eats, burps, and then plays but within 30 minutes to an hour she starts crying and arching her back, drooling and spitting up. She has occassional hiccups. I highly suspect acid reflux because sometimes when she spits up (especially an hour or two after eating), she starts really crying. She also lets out a good holler sometimes 30 minutes into a good nap, but does manage to fall back to sleep. So, I just tried Colic Calm after a feeding when she started having her symptoms. I kid you not that within 2 minutes she started smiling and giggling at me. She continued to play nice and happy until she tired out and fell asleep peacefully. So...will this potion continue to work? I sure hope so, but I felt compelled enough to write a review after my first use. I agree with another reviewer though that the black color is indeed freaky and I was nervous giving her something that "looks" toxic. But, I was soooo happy seeing her happy again that I had tears in my eyes.

Colic Calm is a great product. Our son is 3 1/2 months and doesn't have colic per se, but does get quite gassy and frustrated which causes him to cry and sometimes scream. Within minutes of giving him Colic Calm he is much more settled and is serene enough to physically work out any of his gas or poop which was the initial culprit. I love that Colic Calm is completely all natural compared with other gripe waters that have parabens...yuck!!

I originally bought this for my first born child who had colic 24/7. He didn't respond to it very well & in reflection I realize there must have been something else bothering him, such as reflux. When I had my second he also was fussy, esp. at night with gas. So I gave this another whirl & he has responded very well to it. He sleeps for longer stretches & his gas is not as frequent. Last night he slept from 10pm to 6:45am - a record! I gave him a dose right before bed & one at 6:45am. He fell back to sleep and slept till 8:30am. Beautiful :)

After all we've been through, the rave reviews for this product across the web had me excited to finally find something that worked to ease my poor baby's tummy. Alas, even this product didn't do the trick. Nevermind the spitup stained with charcoal, but he also developed constipation after a couple days use and he cried even more. I know sometimes things take longer but this product didn't seem to do anything to calm the acid in his tummy.

Being a new mom I read reviews but rarely ever take the time to write them. Our 6 week old breast fed daughter has been a nightmare this past week. I wouldn't say she has diagnosed colic but she's been a terror...screaming all the time, unable to calm down. We have tried mylicon and gripe water - neither of which were doing the trick. We know it's gas that's causing her pain. I even broke down and bought a $250 swing hoping it would make a difference. Our pediatrician recommended Colic Calm. I was a little skeptical because not only is it black, rather pricey but some reviewers said it made their kids constipated. Last night we gave it to her - she didn't calm down immediately but once she did she was really calm and slept for 6 1/2 hours (she's never passed 4) I will continue to try this and see if it was a fluke but she seems really calm and happy this morning...so I think I'm a believer. One thing to note is it does make their poop black...I don't think thats a problem but it's something to keep in mind.
