5.0 out of 5 stars VERY useful--and lots of fun, too, November 30, 2008
The picture on the cover tells it all: once again, your sweet baby is red in the face and screaming, tears pouring down his chubby cheeks. Yikes! What can you do?

The author covers your horror to discover that you survived nine months of nausea, back pain, and kicks in the ribs" (p 3) only to discover that the unpleasant part of motherhood is not over. She reveals her baby was perfect...until day 14. And then the colic began.

She offers jokes and ways to soothe your child, suggestions such as asking friends for help and eating chocolate, and gives some great advice on what works. Belly rubs, show tunes, and pacifiers are all discussed, both the pros and the cons.

Useful and bound to make you smile.

This book was so cute and funny! I really liked that it had useful information, but wasn't preachy or patronizing. Kompare's ability to laugh at herself and see the humor in an admittedly dark situation made this book a pleasure to read. The "Countdown Calender" at the back was a great idea. I would recommend this book as a perfect baby shower or new mom gift. Can't wait to read more from this author.

My baby had colic for the first couple of months. I liked this book because it is one of a kind where mom of a colicky baby shares her own personal experience with a sense of humor and practical advices. Unlike other books, this author actually went through the experience.
