Classic Songs, Classic Voice !, August 30, 2001

I believe Colin went back into the studio to re-record these songs! I sctually have the earlier release which includes 2 newly recorded songs; 'Still Burning Bright' and 'Don't feel no pain no more' which are not on this updated version. 'Don't Feel no Pain' was written by Sebastian Santa Maria, a guitarist who teamed with the reformed 'Zombies' for the reunion album 'NEW WORLD" ( a brilliant album that needs to be re-released!!!!)
I have also always thought that any album titled 'Greatest Hits' or even worse 'Sings his Greatest Hits' usually indicates the artist has died or gone into music oblivion!!! Bad title! A name like 'Classics' or 'Collection' or even better, like Chris Rea (who did the same thing) 'New Light Through Old Windows', would be a more worthy name. So... don't let this title fool you; it's a collection of wonderful and powerful songs! Colin could easily have made this a double CD set... Mmmm let's see.... 'Colin Sings his Greatest Hits 2!!! No! 'Colin Sings more of his greatest Hits'
Anyway... this is a great place to start if you are not familiar with Colin's songs or just a casual listener (like the Alan Parson's fans) who discovered Colin through APP.
There are some obvious classics on here as well as some lost ones from his different name days. I guarantee you'll like this CD! Buy it!
