It's TRULY amazing how timeless the album truly is. I purchased this CD and the David Sanborn/Bob James collaboration within the same weekend. These two CD's STILL lead the charge in my Jazz collection. Mt. Airy Road, Dreamin' and Collaboration can change my mood no matter what's goes on! I WISH that these two would reprise their relationship and turn out another CD. Talk about a BEST SELLER! If you have NEVER listened to jazz, or never found an appreciation of the art form, pick up this CD. If you DON'T like what you hear.....oh man... TOP NOTCH!

I want to express my gratitute to Messrs. Benson and Klugh for creating the perfect Jazz album. There has not been a better exhibition of virtuosity or improvisation on any album in the past 20 years. I was prompted to write this quick review because I recently saw Mr. Klugh in concert in NYC, and he performed Mt. Airy Road, my favorite song ever. I wish Mr. Benson could have been there.

For those who are not Jazz fans, whats great about this CD is that it really was one of the primary influences of the new school of "smooth jazz" musicians, and with the cool scat of George Benson, its really reminiscent of something from another undescribable genre that hasn't been invented yet.

Thats enough praise. Go buy this CD and you will enjoy it for the rest of your life.

This is a brilliant CD and this 1989 release captures what Benson does best while ingratiating Klugh's baliwick of melody and mood listening!

Benson stirs the pot with incredible solos on many of the upbeat tunes while Klugh evidences he has a clue as to how to play tasteful yet bee-bop type solos--not just a balladeer as many think!

Neither artist competes for the lime-light but rather utilize their own unique styles to form a fashionably refreshing CD that is a must for ALL Benson and Klugh fans!

If you are a Benson fan, this CD will turn you on to Earl Klugh and similarly, ALL Klugh followers will be compelled to tune into Benson after listening to this CD only a few times.

Rarely does a CD have the variety this wonderful CD posits! A MUST hear to any ear!

I went gaga when this album first came out in 1987, because I'm a big fan of both George Benson and Earl Klugh. I was a little disappointed when I first listened to it because of my high expectations. But after a while I latched onto about half of the tunes on the album. My favorites are "Mimosa," "Since You're Gone," and "Jamaica;" they all have a great blend of Benson's and Klugh's signature styles, along with the fascinating sound of an electric jazz guitar played with an acoustic guitar.

Cool, steady jazz. Nice guitar based jazz with nothing over the top. Feels like a couple masters riding the velvet train. Nothing really proven here, just a comfirmation of how natural their abilities are.

This is a special cd, how do you get to hear two headliners on one cd? The cd is named perfectly too.

This CD is great. It's one of the few that you can listen to all the way through. George and Earl did a fantastic job putting these arrangements together.

This is something you cannot miss out if u luv jazz or actually you like other music asides jazz. Trust me I first checked this out @ a library near Fulton County, GA and then bought it on tape right after just to feel any difference to it. This is a good album to start for all GB and EK fans. Yeah George and Earl are the baddest man. You know what I'm talkin' about? They can play everything from jazz, to R&B, to pop, to Latin you name it. This is one the best favorites I own even tho its a CLASSIC. I'll luv 4 them to rejoin and do another duet on their next CD. My goodness, it's been so long. I luv every song that's is really bangin and making me felling in luv with it. I'm a avid Jazz listener since the age of 13 in '97 and still luvin' it today more than I do r&b, rap, hip-hop, gospel and other music which I like.

George Benson and Earl Klugh used to be two of my favourite guitarists. Others have taken the top spot in my affections these days but I'm still a huge fan of their respective back catalogues, and when they put this out back in 1987 I was simply delirious. I don't think I'd heard them together since Klugh guested on Benson's cover of his song "Livin' Inside Your Love" from Benson's 1979 album of the same name.

Tommy LiPuma is the producer behind the boards once again and with support from people like Greg Phillinganes on keyboards & synthesizers, Marcus Miller on bass, Harvey Mason on drums, Paulinho Da Costa on percussion and Paul Jackson on rhythm guitar, Benson (on electric guitar) and Klugh (on classical guitar) simply shine. This isn't highbrow technical stuff; it's jazz at its most accessible - smooth jazz, if you want to call it that - and the two guitarists (with Benson adding his now trademark vocal scats in places) respectfully make room for each other to improvise over funky grooves. These two definitely bring out the best in each other and 20 years later, I still enjoy listening to this as much as I did when I first heard it. Every single track is an absolute stunner.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that they kicked off the trend but this was the first collaboration between two jazz guitarists that I ever became aware of. Larry Carlton & Lee Ritenour did a collaboration of their own in 1995 called Larry & Lee which I definitely recommend and another firm favourite of mine (though not as smooth as the other two) is the joint effort by John Scofield & Pat Metheny from 1994 called I Can See Your House from Here.

If you like either Earl Klugh or George Benson, this warrants a listen at the very least. If you like them both, it's really a no-brainer.
