This is the most lovely of books written by the artist, Alma de la Melana Cox. Alma's creative gift shines through in both the depth of her art and the simplicity of her instruction. The how to instruction appears flawless, with all the steps and care in place for the most novice of "artists" to create something that speaks to them. This book shows us that everyone has a talent within them and that we just need to believe and create. Art is not about perfection, but about having fun and a passion for life. Hats off to Alma for a book that is a piece of art in itself.

This book is beautiful from the cover and throughout. Great photos of the telamadera process. It is my new favorite addition to my art book collection.

This is a beautiful book! My recommendation: Buy two. I did - one to use for my projects I eagerly await to begin and the second as a coffee table book. It is beautiful to look at and go through. Try it! You'll see just how it inspires the artful (and not so artful) mind.

Collage Fusion is a beautiful book filled with delightful photographs of inspiring projects combined with step by step instructions with detailed photographs showing any aspiring artist how to create their own beautiful artwork. Alma's detailed instructions are easy to follow and materials are easily available and are likely to be in your drawers now! I can't put it down! Kudos to Alma for sharing the wonders of Telamadera!

Having seen Alma's work in person I anxiously awaited this book. Wow! You feel like you are sitting in the classroom surrounded by all the supplies possible to create these wonderful pieces of art. And the text is straight from Alma. Having watched this artist develop through the years I am thrilled with this well written, beautifully illustrated book. You could be a beginner dabbling in mixed media or an accomplished artist and there is something for everyone.

After reading the description of this book, I was very disappointed with it once it arrived. There is very little that is new for the seasoned crafter; in fact, if you have ever painted, sewn, glued or varnished things around your home, this is little more than a glammed up version of what you already know. There really is very little thats new under the sun, just the materials we use, and even then most of those used in these projects are not exactly new.
That said, for someone who is new to the crafting scene and never held a paint brush let alone used a glue pot, this is an excellent introduction to mixed media arts, without getting overwhelmed by all the different techniques out there. The author takes you through each project step by step, accompanied by good photos to show you what you should be doing. Her writing is so sensible and easy to follow this book is an ideal way for a mother and child to spend quality time together while learning something new. Each project introduces new ideas and builds on what you have learned in the previous project, and by following these excellent instructions even a complete newbie can produce some exciting and modern artwork, and acquire the confidence to tackle other media. Techniques covered include using paints, textas and other media, fabric cutting, decoupage, designing( as in choosing your fabrics and co-coordinating the colours you will use), as well as basic wood-burning and gluing things together in a pleasing fashion. The results are modern and colourful and sure to please.
I was lucky and bought this elsewhere at a knockdown price - I would have returned it had it been full price, as the "techniques" are neither new nor inspiring; there are much more exciting projects for free on blogs on the internet. The two stars are because it should have its place in a primary school library crafts section.

I love to collage, so I had to buy this book, since it featured the new telamadera technique. Telamadera is an innovative technique which combines quilting and collage techniques with a plethora of other techniques on wood. Alma de la Melena Cox, the innovative artist and author of the book, presents the techniques through detailed verbal and pictorial instructions. There are no patterns included, but Alma's dynamic designs are very much inspirational!

This is a new technique for me. If it's something you'd want to learn, this book is a good one.
The book was ordered on Amazon's used books and was in great shape and the seller was fast to ship.
