From Library Journal
True to the spirit of collage, the Digbys have created this book out of many elements. There are dozens of one- or two-page commentaries on various contemporary artists who use collage, with reproductions of one work each by most of the artists discussed. There is also one chapter on the history of collage, one with how-to information on materials and techniques, and one on the methods used by John Digby in his own collage work. Lists of British and American suppliers of archival-quality collage materials are also provided. The commentaries on individual artists tend to use poeticized language that sometimes obscures the authors' meaning, but the book should still prove intriguing to would-be collage practitioners and anyone else with an interest in this art form.
