Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

These books are notable for the beauty and creativity of the projects?a prime consideration when selecting dried-flower books. Le Bailey has many small projects for cards, bookmarks, and framed items such as pendants and paperweights. An annotated list of plants used in the projects is included. Carver's book has projects using the unusual technique of gluing natural materials to fabric in designs reminiscent of fine embroidery. Although the work is painstaking in its detail, the effect is stunning. Both books are full of inspirational ideas for the experienced dried-flower crafter.

I think this is one of those things where you have to be really "into it" or else you might as well not bother. It's too much work for me! A better knowledge of plants than I have would probably help, too.

The author must have put a lot of work into this book. I haven't read much of it (and probably won't) but it appears well organized and illustrated. I personally don't like all of the projects' color schemes, preferring lighter backgrounds, but they do seem to look coordinated.

This would likely be a very good hobby for those who are willing to invest the time and effort, but it's not for me.
