Book Description

June 30, 2007
The seventy-two poems that make up Collage of the Soul take the reader on a most extraordinary journey into the highly charged, romantic world of this unique poet. Tagrin s latest collection reveals with searing intensity what it is like to win and lose in love, as he struggles for balance amongst destabilizing urges. From the streets of New York and San Francisco, the islands of south Asia, and the peace and serenity of the Greek islands, a life emerges that at once seems staggering beautiful and wildly dangerous.

Editorial Reviews

Review

My stay at the institute with Barry Tagrin in Paros was a wonderful moment in my life. But even better was getting to know Barry's poetry, helping him to prepare his manuscript and seeing how much he cared about poetry itself. For him it was a highly sacred undertaking. I truly value the poems in Collage of the Soul, for their perfectly natural construction and truth of feeling. --Jason Shider

For me, Barry contains the wilderness, a romantic spirit, and a real sense of power. --Linda Gregg

Barry Tagrin is dangerous, his work muscular without straining, and always a surprise. --Jack Gilbert
