4.0 out of 5 stars Strange and original, August 23, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Collapse of Modern Culture (Audio CD)
In my opinion, this album is a nice blend of the best that music has come to. Trip-hop, hip-hop, and an pizzacato-5-esque atmosphere. One can also sense the influence of UNKLE and DJ Shadow. A good buy. Interesting everytime you put it on.

This amazing record by Detroit's Sherard Ingram is one of my favorite records ever of any kind - and it may be both the greatest Triphop record ever and the finest Detroit Techno album of all time. I'd describe it as sounding like a magical combination of Derrick May and DJ Shadow, with a bit of the serene atmosphere of Harold Budd, the echoing melancholy of Pole or Rhythm and Sound, and a touch of the transcendence of Alice Coltrane. It's perfect music for a night drive along the beach, or a walk through the forest under a pearly full moon. I think that, along with Black Dog Production's Bytes, Kenny Larkin's Metaphor, Autechre's Chiastic Slide, Aphex's Selected Ambient Works 85-92, and Carl Craig's More Songs About Food and Revolutionary Art, this is one of the essential recordings of contemporary electronic music that any fan of the genre should have in their collection. Well, thanks for listening... er, reading, i guess.... - Chris V.
