Book Description

3rd ed March 1997
A court judgment is only worth the paper it's printed on--unless you can collect it. People who are awarded a money judgment in Small Claims, Municipal or Superior Court discover a harsh truth: the court will not collect the judgment. Collect Your Court Judgment shows them how to locate debtors, find out what they're worth, and claim their money.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

OK, you've won that lawsuit, and the judge went whole hog in awarding you damages beyond your wildest dreams. Now all you have to do is collect it from the guilty party, and there's the rub. There are an amazing number of ways for a defendant to avoid paying the awarded judgment, and this is the book to show you how to avoid being avoided. This may not be a fun, catchy book to read for pleasure--though like all of Nolo Press's books, it is written to be understood by a regular, non-lawyer type person--but if you face the daunting task of trying to collect a court judgment from someone trying to evade payment, this may be one of the best books you ever read!

This review is from: Collect Your Court Judgement: California Edition (3rd ed) (Paperback)
Still trying to collect from your judgment debtor? The court says you were right, you are entitled to collect, but the courts don't assist in collection! For judgment creditors, the legal process can be confusing and frustrating. Where do you start? How do you find the debtor, his assets, employment, etc.? What forms do you use once you find the debtor information? How do you fill them out? This book is my "biz bible" when recovering judgments for others. Any individual or business with a court-awarded judgment will benefit greatly with the tools and information contained in this book. You won it . . . now go get it!
