My Favorite, July 17, 2007
This review is from: Collected Essays of Thomas Troward (Paperback)
The works of Thomas Troward are among those that I cherish. Sometimes I actually pick up his books and hold them close to my heart....but this one - "The Hidden Power" is my favorite. Written in essay form, he addresses a number of topics briefly with wisdom and clarity. As a Judge, Thomas Troward had the responsibility of looking at all sides before reaching a decision. These essays also reflect careful contemplation and consideration. If you are interested in "old" opinions of "New Thought," this book is a wonderful introduction to an amazing teacher who left a legacy of inspiration and understanding through his writing. I highly recommend this book. I have read it, re-read it, highlighted and marked it and given away copies to others. It's a treasure!

There is much more to man, October 31, 2009
Thomas Troward's writings are very challenging and thought provoking. Some of the things he says have been said by others, but the way in which he says them is totally unique. In speaking of the Universal Spirit, he states in the chapter on "Completeness" that "it is this part of our "self" that we so often leave out". He further says that "we have only to draw on that part of ourselves which is infinite to carry out any intention we may form in our individual consciousness". All of his books are worth reading and are quite enlightening. I was particularly impressed with the underlying devoutness of Troward in his references to the scriptures and to God and Christ. He does not throw away the sacred and true inorder to present the new, he tries to show that in many ways they are not only similar to new thought but in some cases the foundation upon which so much of the new is grounded. In his section on "Fragments" there is a reference to Father, Son,and Spirit, and the words of Jesus saying "I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly" His point being we all are striving for a greater realization of life and a higher sense of it. Delighted and Enlightened, February 27, 2010
This book was more than I expected. I became aware of its existence when previewing the movie, " The Secret". Bob Protor spoke about the spirit of opulence and gave reference to Thomas Troward. I have been a Christian for over thirty years now and I have gained a better understanding of the scriptures because of this book. This book helped to confirm who I am, and that is a rich child of God. It also put strong emphasis on Spirit and Truth. Thomas Troward's words and wisdom helped bring my attention to the beauty of God and his eternal care for his sons and daughters. After reading this book, I identify with devine wealth, love, spirit, truth, beauty and opulence. Anyone who wants to live life to its fullest should read this literary work.
