a look at marriage 100 years ago,
This review is from: The Collected Stories of Edith Wharton (Paperback)
These well written stories combine manners, humor, and pathos. Most deal with the woman's role in society as it pertains to marriage at the turn of the century and into the 20's and 30's. Her perspectives on society have some relevance for any time.Very extensive vocabulary for someone who had no formal schooling.
