This is an excellent book that actually shows the reader step by step how to change negative patterns and thinking to positive. I have read a lot of these kinds of books in the past and they always say that you have to change your thinking, but don't give you the specific tools in which to do so, this book does! Florence Scovel Shinn was years ahead of her time. Her wisdom, advice and insight is astounding. This is a must have book that you will refer to over and over again!

I had a copy of the Game of Life and How to Play It and when I moved it got lost in the shuffle. I was glad to find this book as it has more wisdom included than the original first title. I am enjoying it along with the positive affirmations it contains. If you are interested in Money, and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Wealth, Health, and Happiness and you read or watched The Secret, or heard the The Teachings of Abraham: The Master Course CD Program, 11-CD set, this authors perspective on the subject is inspirational.

Though there were a few brief, questionable beliefs mentioned in the book, having been a Bible-believing Christian for over 30 years, I found this book to be overall very Biblical and a tremendous faith-builder! It put me delightfully in remembrance of the goodness, protection, and provision of the Lord, and perhaps more than any other book I've ever read, taught me how to change my thoughts, change my attitudes, and fully trust God. "I cast this burden on the Christ within, and I go FREE!" I am very careful now to watch my thoughts and words, and have been watching God's word really work in my life. I love this book, and will reread it often.

I have purchased over 30 copies of this book for friends over the last 15 years. It's easy to read, poignant and despite the time it was written, relevant to this day. Unfortunately this edition's print is so small (as is the book) that it's hard to read. I think the font size is much smaller than the standard.

This is one of my favorite books (four books total) of all time BUT the problem with this version on Kindle is, you cannot go to the Table of Contents and click to the book or any section/chapter you want to read.

I bought this book in 1976, because It was recommended by a friend. I had just lost a loved one. It is a brown paperback with the Title (THE GAME OF LIFE AND HOW TO PLAY IT). These are the words on the front of it by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale." The Game of Life is filled with wisdom and creative insights. that it's teachings will work I know to be fact, for I've long used them myself." on the back, "By studing and practicing the principles laid down in this book one may find prosperty, solve problems, have better health, achieve good personal relations--in a word, win the game of life". It has helped me through the years and I have given these books to friends.The main thing is trusting Jesus as your personal Savior.and letting the Holy spirit lead you. Chris

It was written 40 or 50 years ago and so it reads in a dated way. But once I ignored that I found many thoughts and passages to highlight and think about. It's not a cover-to cover read but something that you can jump around, pick up, put down and come back to again and again. It's all about positive thinking of which I'm a strong advocate. So it suited my thinking well. It also has a strong religious tone which worked for me. If it doesn't work for you the "positive" thinking it encourages is worthwhile enough. I even bought two more books to send to friends.

I am not commenting on the content of this book which I have not read. I just received the book today and I was surprised at the poor quality of the book itself. The print is practically off the pages; right- and left-hand margins are almost nonexistent and the print is small and light in color, one step above fading. Shinn's work is available from many sources; buy yourself something better than this.

I recently joined a study group of Ms. Shinn's work. Her The Game of Life is timeless and works ... it's all about changing your thoughts to create your reality ... and it's wonderful!

One of the best" New Thought" writers/books I have read from an author who is little known. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the power within us all.
