One of the best!,

This review is from: Collected Works of G.K. Chesterton: The Autobiography (Paperback)
Chesterton's _Autobiography_ is one of the best Christian autobiographies that are out there. Follow Chesterton on his journey out of the insanity of the early 20th century and into the freeing sanity of the Catholic Church.Chesterton's insights into various figures and movements of the early 20th century are a great joy to read, and still are important today in combatting various contemporary insanities. If you want to understand more about one of the greatest English authors of the 20th century, this book is a must have.

This review is from: Collected Works of G.K. Chesterton: The Autobiography (Paperback)
G.K. Chesterton's Autobiography is enlightening, hilarious, shocking, confusing, uplifting, interesting, and completely delightful to read. It is not for people who are unaware of his life already though, because GK has very little to say about the events or accomplishments in his life. He moves from person to person and philosophy to philosophy, he jumps back years and moves ahead, and he examines his own beliefs from one age to the next quickly and dramatically. It brings together all of his other works and makes all the biographies on him make even more sense, but it is emphatically not a good place to start when one gets into GKC. |
