Why even review a calendar?,

Seriously, it does seem weird to be so enthusiastic about a calendar that I wish to write a review, but there's something about the "Collectible Teapot and Tea Calendars" series that is so enchanting that I had to encourage interested parties to go ahead and make this purchase. The teapot tableaux that make up the photographs for every month are so charming that you are certain to find each one a bit of old-fashioned, gracious civility that will give your mind a sense of restoration and repose even in the midst of a hectic day. Every month contains side-bar information on the customs and history of the teatime ritual. There are even pithy tea quotes for each month. What a fascinating and beautiful way to track the days!
I've bought these calendars for the past five years. They are, by far, my favorite calendar series that I have come across. Kudos to Joni Miller and Martin Brigdale!

I got hooked on this calendar several years ago, and every Christmas I get one for myself and several for certain friends who now expect this each year. The photography is outstanding, and the historical perspective offered on each month is very informative. Something new that was contained in the 2007 calendar is postcards of each of the teapots of the 12 months. These are not just photos of teapots, but are beautiful table settings of foods, flowers, linens, and keepsakes of the era when the particular teapot was produced. The photos conjure up a time when people gathered to talk and eat delectable finger foods and relax in a way that perhaps we do not enjoy today. From that aspect the calendar has a very nurturing quality. The antique teapots are quite amazing and beautiful.

Surprised...,
This review is from: The Collectible Teapot & Tea Calendar 2011 (Calendar)
My mother and I collect tea related items and really enjoy giving this calendar each year for Christmas. But this year I was surprised to see a familier tea cup on the front cover (2011) and upon further inspection, they used the same tea cup as in 2009!!! Seriously? With the gazillion of different tea services out there you have to re-use??? Between my mother and I we could put this calendar together for 20 years without repeating patterns. Are they cheaping out or what??? It looks like we will be looking for another calendar for next year...too bad...

So lovely,

I've been buying these calendars for around four years now. They are just absolutely gorgeous. The pictures are bright and clear. Also I love how much work was put into each picture with the addition of certain desserts (that are just so pretty) and other miscellaneous things - such as books, glasses, paint brushes, and etc - just to give the picture that extra realistic touch.
Each month has a different style teapot, so you're not just going to see the same thing over and over again. The teapot selection is unique, too. Also there are interesting tidbits of information about the teapot and quotes about tea. I'd highly recommend this calendar to anyone who is a collector of teapots or enjoys tea parties.

Each year I buy this calendar, and each year I am amazed by the beautiful photographs that incorporate such a sharp eye for detail. The text that accompanies each photograph is also full of information that places each teapot within it's historic context.

Duplicates of Previous Years,

I haven't checked the articles, but the photos are all duplicates of previous years, which makes this a great disappointment. I don't want photos that will remind me of past years and past events.
I can recycle my own calendars according to a perpetual calendar, I don't need to pay to do it. If you don't have the previous years, or don't remember the photos, then this is fine, as for me, I'll check before I ever by this one again.

This is my first Joni Miller calendar and I am thrilled at the beautiful nostalgic pictures and "tea stories" included on each page. Since I am an avid teapot collector, I found several of the teapot pictures so lovely and inspiring that I want to frame them for my kitchen. This is a calendar that's sure to be just your "cup of tea."

Sensual Delight!,
By
This review is from: The Collectible Teapot & Tea Calendar 2006 (Calendar)
As always the 2006 Teapot Calendar is simply a delight. The photos are so detailed and sumptuous that you feel as if you are sitting down at that exact table for tea. It brings back all the wonderful memories of having tea parties as a child, but oh! so much more elegantly! Not only are teapots featured, but tea cups, and tea cakes or cookies that would appropriately be served with that particular type of tea or pot. Each month has a little limerick or ditty about tea and also a few lines about the particular pot being pictured, or the company who made the teapot, or some other fascinating fact about tea. I have been purchasing this calendar for the last six years and I have never been disappointed! If you love teapots, the art of taking tea, or anything to do with tea, you will be absolutely entranced with this calendar.

The Collectible Teapot & Tea Calendar 2006
by Joni Miller The calendars that Joni Miller puts out are very unique. The arrangements of the teapots with everything that could go along with a good cup of tea is phenomenal. They are pleasing to the eye and pleasing to a women's soul. The attention of any of my female visitors is captured by this calendar like no other that I have ever bought. When I look at this teapot calendar it makes me very happy inside. |
