This seemed like an awfully skinny little book for the asking price, but every review I had read about it was enthusiastic, so I purchased it in spite of my initial misgivings. When I got the book home and saw that the paper it was printed on was very good quality, and that there were color pictures, I was heartened a bit. Then, I actually tried to USE the book to find a value for a particular View-Master product. That was when I realized there was no alphabetical index, except for unnumbered reels. The user has to already know the number of the product in order to find it quickly, invest the time to read each and every line carefully, or hope he or she just happens to come across it while flipping through the pages. I'm sorry to be such a complainer, but when one spends the equivilent of several hours wages on a book, something as basic as an index is expected. I returned the book to the store I bought it from and got a refund.

For those just beginning a viewmaster collection, this can be a handy tool. The only major fault I find with it is that it does not have an index in the back, making it more difficult to locate information about a specific item. But it is less costly than some of the viewmaster books and beginners often don't know the name or model number of a particular viewer or reel anyway, so it's not as big an issue as you might think. The photos are excellent and the authors are quite knowledgeable about viewmaster as a whole. It was worth the money.

Being a 'newbie' to View-Master collecting this was one of the first books I picked up. It is very informative, well laid out and a terrific reference book. I've been able to classify my collection with ease. A must have!

I've been collecting view-master items for years but I learned so much from this book. It clearly illustrates almost every detail of view-master collecting. I loved all the photos. Now I know what my collection is really worth. If you collect or are thinking of collecting viewmaster you need this book.

I was expecting a much heftier book for the money. Much of the historical information in the book can be found on various websites, however, it is nice to see examples in pictures, and it has an especially nice collection of pictures of viewers. It has disappointingly little information on Viewmaster accessories, such as albums, or camera equipment, so the main focus is on Viewmaster reels and viewers. The price-guide is a useful reference, but not quite worth the overall expense. But then again, many Viewmaster items are overpriced themselves...

As editor of View-Master Enthusiast Magazine, I highly recommend this book. Suitable for the beginner, expert, or so-absorbed-into-collecting-that-I-forgot-to-pay-my-trailer-park-rent collector. As a grown adult, I am able to escape the reality of my life by collecting view master slides with other adults, all at ridiculously escalated costs! If only I had started collecting View-Masters as a child, rather than watch 18 hours of TV a day, I might have become somebody. At any rate, this book is an indispensable part of any View-Master collector's library. It looks great next to my collection of TV Guides!

At 26.95 when most other view-master books out there cost alot more. It was well worth it. The paper quality and ALL the hundreds of photos both B&W and color are great. Plus the whole book is about view-master not just a little section in the back. If you remember these reels or want to collect them... this is the book for you. I have so many "collecting" books and they give little details and almost no photos. This one offers everything in great detail and pictures to go along with alot of items and updated values. You won't be dissappointed... I certainly wasn't. In fact.. I thought of getting a second one as I have used mine alot and it is quite dogeared. It gets used on a weekly basis and has become a great tool for my collecting habit. I have most of the viewmaster books available and this is the one I wouldn't be without!

I am a beginning collector to View-Master reels. This book has wonderful photo's, Lots of information and the price guides on both reels and View-masters complete and extremely helpful and very thorough! I am sure the money I will save using it will more than pay for the book. A very well planned and thought out book.

This is the first book I have found that had color pictures of all my view master viewers and was up to date on the values of my reels and packets. Sure takes the guess work out of my collecting. Will save me the cost of this book when I bid through on line auctions! TOP OF THE HEAP. Thanks Brad & Julie!!!
