She participates in antiques shows and provides appraisal services. Leigh has been a dealer for more than 12 years and sells jewellery through her own website. The new Collecting Art Plastic book from Leigh Leshner is full of wonderful photographs of plastic jewelry that a beginning to seasoned collector might reasonably expect to find on a jewelry treasure hunt. The photographs are larger than life to show the detail and the beauty in everything from nylon, bakelite, celluloid, lucite, and the newer resins. There is enough information of the new artists to peek your interest in searching them out. As a long time collector dealer myself, I consider it worthwhile to keep on hand as a resource in my jewelry library.

I like the mixture of the old and new plastics which give well rounded examples of various plastic jewelry available on the market today.

This book is a must if you are into collecting Art Plastic Jewellery including plastic ,celluloid , bakelite and lucite.There are beautiful large coloured photographs on every page with descriptions and a price guide. Lots of chunky bracelets, dog brooches, mah-jong bracelets, animal pins, fruit jewellery etc. Very useful if you are into collecting vintage and modern plastic jewellery but also just a lovely book to look at!

Leigh Leshner's "Collecting Art Plastic Jewelry" is a fascinating look at today's plastics artisans. Modern designers like Jackie Weeks, Judith Evans, Jim Foltz and Judy Clarke--excluded from other bakelite and plastic jewelry guides--are well-represented in this clear and interesting book. There are sections on vintage pieces, history and types of plastics as well as the requisite price guide (which seemed more accurate than other guides for this current market...), but it is the photographs and the info on the new generation of artisans that make this book a winner. A must for the serious and the casual collector.
