Great collection of some of their best work...,

This review is from: Collection: Volume One (Audio CD)
This isn't an all-out greatest hits CD, it's more of a greatest hits / B-Sides collection. You'll find some of Bone's classic tracks like "Foe Tha Love Of $," "1st Of Tha Month," & "Thuggish Ruggish Bone." But it also has some of their best soundtrack & guest appearance tracks, like "Notorious Thugs" with Biggie, & "War." But the highlights of this album are "Shoot Em Up" & "Days Of Our Livez." Both from lesser-known soundtracks, these two tracks alone make this album worth your money. "Shoot Em Up" is a beautiful blend of a smooth beat and thuggish, hardcore lyrics. Thuggishness & Harmony at it's best. And "Days Of our Livez" may be my personal favorite Bone track of all-time. The album ends with a new track, "P.O.D." Nice & smooth weed track. Bone did a great job of putting some of their best work on here, but also leaving the door open for a "Collection Vol 2." Many great soundtrack & guest appearances were left off here, including "Everyday Thang," as well as some of their greatest hits, including "Crossroads (Uneek's remix)" & many tracks off "Art Of War." If you wanna get a feel of Bone's sound, definitely pick up this album. And if you're a Bone fan and you don't have this album, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? Pick this up!

This is a great collection of Bone tracks. It has great laid-back Bone songs, more hardcore Bone songs, and Bone getting more personal. All in all it makes for a great collection to have. My fav songs on the album are Thuggish Ruggish Bone, 1st Of Tha Month, Crossroad (Original Mix), Body Rott, Notorious Thugs (best ever), Days Of Our Livez, War (Battlecry Remix). If you are a big fan or not, you will be bumpin' this Cd for some time like I was once you get it. I havent got Volume 2 but after this I think I'll go out and get it as soon as I can. If you like rap you'll want to have this so go get it now!

Bone thugs has always been sweet. This CD brings in a lot of their classics. One small downside is it could have definitely had more songs on it. I think they only did that because they had planned right from the beginning to release another Volume. But thats alright. Great CD nonetheless.

What do you get when you combine harcore street tales and a smooth melodic touch: Bone Thugs N Harmony. "Foe Tha Love of $" is an old time Bone Thug classic that is a perfect example of gritty street rhymes and a harmonic flow. The Late Eazy-E even lends a hand to this young group at the time solidifying its true authenticity to the gangsta rap world. Krayzie Bone sums up the title of this song with this sole verse: "...both on the mission for money, you give up the cash if that was your a** cause me and my homie was hungry" Need anyone say anything more of "1st of Tha Month" And how about "Shoot 'Em Up". This is a unreleased track, and I am so glad that they put it on this album. The Thugs magnificent word play and the strong bass line make this a cut that you can either listen to in your walkman while waitin for the bus, or cruise along to with your homies in your lowrider down the neighborhood. There are only so many words that can describe the feeling when you load a disc into your cd player and know that once you hit the play button, the music doesn't stop untill the album is finished. No need for any fastfowarding here. With songs like "Notorious Thugs" w/Biggie Smalls to "Breakdown" w/Mariah Carey. The Collection Volume 1 has a little something for everyone. Whether you need a cut to pump you up "War" & "Body Rott" or you need something to calm you down and help you reminice "Dayz of our Livez" & "Crosroads". This album has it all. Indeed this in no Greatest Hits album, as it is basically and simply a collection of songs that is necessary to have if you are any kind of Bone Thugs N Harmony fan. You can only wonder what thier "Greatest Hits" album will consist of...

"The Collection, Vol 1" is a straight up classic,

Before this album came out, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony had released the debut EP, "Creepin On Ah Come Up", then "East 1999 Eternal" in 1996 and then in 1997, "The Art Of War" was released. Once this album came out, there was 13 stellar or classic tracks. This album is very diverse because it has hardcore anthems (1st of Tha Month, Notorious Thugs, Thuggish Ruggish Bone, F---Tha Police, Foe Tha Love of $), slow tempo personal tracks (Dayz Of Our Livez, Breakdown, Crossroad). The album is also filled with violent, uproaring tracks (Shoot 'Em Up, BNK, War, Body Rott) finally filled with an ode to Mary Jane (P.O.D.) on one CD. If you really want the best of the legendary Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, I suggest this album for your collection.

Bone Thugs and Harmony have been in the game ever since I was young and I still love their music. The songs in this album are the best Bone Thugs have ever produced. The ability to produce words from their mouths so quickly is quite amazing. Even though sometimes what they say is hard to understand, the quality of the album makes up for it. A great gift idea!
