5.0 out of 5 stars very important book, May 4, 2009
This review is from: A Collection of Classical and Eastern Intaglios, Rings and Cameos (Studies in Gems and Jewellery) (Hardcover)
As a researcher on engraved gems from Portugal, this book was indeed very useful for me. I could even verify that some of my opinions, on certain pieces I am studying, are right... Sir John Boardman is, in fact, an important MASTER!!!

Unfortunately most of the pictures in this book are in black and white. This fact seems almost inexcusable in the 21st century.
