Bill Nye rocks?,
This review is from: Bill Nye the Science Guy 10-Disc DVD Collection (Magnetism & Chemical Reactions, Earths Crust & Earthquakes, Flowers & Plants, Sun & Light Optics, Inventions & Do-It-Yourself Science, Planets & Gravity, Motion & Friction, Storms & Atmospheres, Digestion & Respiration, Pollution Solutions & Populations) (DVD)
Bill Nye is extremely helpful in having children enjoy learning science. I am a 5th grade teacher and bought the set for my classroom and will give it to my grandchildren when I retire.
I would have enjoyed choosing which videos came since I also need "Rocks and Minerals" and could have eliminated or exchanged one or possibly two.

These are scientific in the sense that they introduce ideas and concepts. However, they are at a pretty basic level and still much more entertainment than education (for example, they end with mini-music videos-- cute but don't teach anything). Compared to lots of videos they are obviously superior in at at least trying to teach something but in no way should anyone pay the ridiculously high prices that are currently listed-- for the 10 pack, each of videos would be about $25-- it is simply not worth it. I got this pack for $100 and that was about right-- averaging $5 per episode (2 are on each DVD).
