Another compilation!,

Made in EU in 2001, Serial# 544-513-2, Playing Time 76:00Yes, in case you're hungry for another "greatest hits", UNIVERSAL is granting your wish. Different from "This Is It!", "Greatest Hits", "Steppin' Out", "Master Series" and "Universal Masters Collection", this CD covers (yet again) the 1979-1989 portion of JJ's eclectic musical career. The 18 tracks included here differ from most other compilations: you may agree or disagree with the choices ("Soul Kiss", for example), but this time, the album succeeds where the "UMC" failed: we're not bouncing all over the place within JJ's extensive exploration of the various musical genres: after putting out of the way the only instrumental track, "Nocturne" from "Will Power", as the opening track, the rest of the album follows a chronological order that makes this exploration more palletable. Unless you're a completist, this album might not represent an exciting investment: some good and familiar stuff, but some not-so-good and obscure stuff (did I mention "Kinda Kute"?); if you are, it includes a version of "Mad At You" that's 30 seconds longer (at 6:32) than any other version I've got... Take it from someone that even has the "Tucker" soundtrack on CD!
