Great to Supplement Curriculum,

This review is from: A Collection of Math Lessons, Grades 6-8 (Paperback)
I teach 5th and 6th grade GATE (Gifted Students) and was looking for lessons that we could do as a supplement to our standards-based curriculum. I want my students to have fun with lessons but still have them tied to the standards and force them to think "outside the box." I've used more than a few lessons out of here and have had compliments from students who like the group work.
Just a tip: this is not a "lesson plan" book, she will describe in vignettes how she taught lessons. So you really have to read the lessons carefully and decide how you will teach the lesson. Takes a lot more thought than today's scripted teacher books! |
