Despite its relatively high price this collection of Patti Austin's 1976-80 CTI recordings is by far the most comprehensive collection of her early works. Patti recorded everything from jazzy ballads to standards to mainstream R&B during her tenure at Creed Taylor's label and this collection shows off her versatility as a singer in fine fashion. Patti deserves much greater recognition--something which this CD proves perfectly. Enjoy!
