Although this wonderful group had more than material for a early 60's Nashboro Records album as well as enough material for a mid 60's album for the Nashboro Records label. Neither ever seen the light of day for reasons we'll never get answers as to why, but that's for another story...This Compact Disc collection consist of 24 (Twenty-Four), Plus 4 (Four) Alternate Takes, giving you a total of 28 (Twenty-Eight) Tracks in all! Only 3 (Three) "An Earnest Prayer", "If You Miss Me From Praying", and "Walk Around My Bedside" appeared on 2 (Two) different early 60's Rare Nashboro (Vinyl only) Various Artists' albums. The remaining 13 (Thirteen) were released as Singles only on the Nashboro label dating from the late 1955 up to 1964. Every cut is a sure-fire Gospel winner! A few of the 50's recordings have a Country & Western-Gospel flavor to them, but even those sound pretty good. Quite naturally when you get to the 60's recordings the group is a backed a rhythm section (Nothing overbearing)...The 'Sound' Nashboro Records was known for. There is an Alternate Take of "The Road's Rough And Rocky" under the title of "The Road's Rocky"...It should have been noted as such and placed with the Alternate Takes that are at the end of this compact Disc. There are 8 (Eight) Singles the group recorded for Nashboro that DID NOT make it to this Compact Disc...Why? Again we'll never get the answer to that question. A 2 (Two) Volume Collection or a Double Disc collecting the Group's COMPLETE recorded works for Nashboro Records would have been real nice, but in the meantime we'll have to live with this Single disc. As with several of the Nashboro Recordings this Compact Disc is Out Of Print!, So you might want to move quick to grab this!
