4.0 out of 5 stars A great buy but not worth buying if you own the originals, August 30, 2006
This Toni Braxton collection features remastered versions of Toni's Last 3 albums on Arista/Laface (excluding "Snowflakes") : "Secrets", "The heat", and "More than a woman". The remastering provides improvement for the sound but I don't think it sounds good enough to re-buy these 3 albums. (I wouldn't anyway since I have the Aregentina releases of these 3 album with bonus tracks). The reason why one star was knocked off my rating is because her first self titled album is not included and because of the packaging. There is an alternate box packaging of this collection. This one is made like a hardcover book. My sister just bought this and the packaging fell apart.

4.0 out of 5 stars Heartfelt Songs, August 19, 2006
This review is from: Collection: Secrets / Heat / More Than a Woman (Audio CD)
The R&b scene right now, seems more like it is about manufactured acts, who seem like they have the feel, but it just looks like the image outweighs the soul and essence of the music. While people right now would rather consider portraits from Beyonce', Kelly Clarkson and Ashnati, the divas of the previous decade have seemed more like they are a forgone conclusion to the past. That unfortunately has been the case with Toni Braxton. Although she has one of the most sensual and seductive voice ever, her music has been forgotten right now with the public. Thankfully, some of her most delightful songs have all been packaged into one simple package.

Toni Braxton: The Collection is a three album compilation that highlights her era from LaFace records, and Arista as well. The collection showcases the seductive and highly-acclaimed Secrets, and passionate and seductive The Heat, and her overshadowed More Than A Woman. The albums have been remastered and delivers the same unique soul and quality that were shown when they originally released years ago. The collection still delivers with great songs like You're Makin' Me High, the classic ballad Un-Break My Heart, the driven and Hip Hop styled He Wasn't Man Enough, the Latin-sensual Diane Warren-penned Spanish Guitar, Hit The Freeway, and so many other great songs. Although the records, The Heat and Secrets deliver graciously well, the only down point to this collection, is that her well-recognized self-titled debut record wasn't showcased, and that sad problem, would've made this compilation a perfectional five stars.

Despite a few small flaws, I would still rather listen to Toni Braxton than somebody who is more like a image, than the feeling of great music. This collection is great for anybody who doesn't own all of these great R&B albums, than this would be a great add-on to your music collection, and that is no heart you should ever un-break.

4.0 out of 5 stars Un-Break The Hearts, June 13, 2006
There are often times where a artist can have adefinitive number of records from the past, but yet, we often forget about how remarkable they were back then. That has been the case with so many acts like Whitney Houston, TLC, and so many others R&B acts. Toni Braxton is one of those acts too. After her time with some of the best R&B albums in the 90's, many people now have forgotten about how beautiful voice really is. While people are into acts that actually seem more like they're manufactured like Beyonce', Ashanti, Jennifer Lopez and Fantasia Burrino from American Idol, Toni seems like she has been a forgotten conclusion. Nevertheless, there is a 3-pack of her music that showcases some of her best songs, and it is right here.

Toni Braxton: The Collection is a 3 disc reflection of some of her driven albums during her time with Arista and LaFace labels in the 90's. The collection consists of her records, the definitive Secrets, More Than A Woman, and her sultry 2000 album The Heat. The songs here have been brillantly restored well, and most of her classics are displayed here. With Secrets, the #1 smashes Un-Break My Heart, and You're Makin' Me High, and other great songs like How Could An Angel Break My Heart, and I don't Want To are here.

The second record, The Heat was recorded in eras with reflections from bankruptcy, and personal bouts with her record label. The songs on this disc are very gritty, and show a tougher edge from Toni's great voice. This record includes the dance driven He Wasn't Man Enough, the sexy and elequent Diane Warren penned Spanish Guitar, and Just Be A Man About It with Dr. Dre, and Fairy Tale to name a few.

The third record, More Than A Woman, her final Arista record, was not as good as her other albums. Although the album did show her only hit off this record, Hit The Freeway with Loon, most of the record was just a sad and somber dissapointment.

All in all, the one big disadvantage with this collection is that her self-titled first record could've been included, instead of More Than A Woman. If that was shown instead, it would've been a 5 star compilation. Nevertheless, Toni Braxton: The Collection still isn't a bad reflection of her career, and that shouldn't be mended by empty hearts at all.
