Ten Years After - 'The Collection' (Griffin), October 5, 2004
This review is from: Collection (Audio CD)
Low and behold, look at what I was able to recently unearth. You know,I think I did a review for the THEN label Griffin's monthly tabloid of this very disc.'The Collection' has sixteen tracks, not near enough to cover the entire career of this '70's British bluesy hard rock legend.I believe they STILL may be somewhat active in the business, though maybe without guitarist/vocalist Alvin Lee.The tunes here that I've been known to repeatedly play sometimes are the fantastic "50,000 Miles Beneath My Brain","Going Back To Birmingham","I'm Going Home" and "Love Me Like A Man".The rest of the classic line-up is Ric Lee-drums,Chick Churchil-keyboards and Leon Lyons on bass.Other happening cuts are "I Say Yeah","Rock N' Roll Music To The World" and "Sweet Little Sixteen".I remember that when I was like maybe ten years old, this is what the cool kids in the neighborhood were listening to.A great find.
