Unlike the other reviewer (W. Toyota), i'm going to review the product (not the quickness of shipping), and i'm going to review it with the knowledge of what this item is. His review is completely based on a lack of understanding this set.
W. Toyota gave this product a poor review because he is clearly unaware of an important fact. He claims that ALL of Damone's hits are not on this collection. OF COURSE THEY'RE NOT. Damone's recording career spanned over 50 years! This collection was put out by Sony/Columbia, on which Damone only recorded from 1955-1961. Therefore, only the songs recorded in that time period would be represented. He had many hits in the early '50s on Mercury, as well as throughout the '60s on Capitol & RCA. But as far as his Columbia period goes, there is NO collection available that gives you a better assortment of songs than this one. And it DOES represent EVERY hit. Every album Damone recorded with Columbia is represented on this collection. In addition, nearly every single and B-side is here, and even a few rare gems that are not available anywhere else. The collection includes every side Damone recorded with Axel Stordahl (Sinatra's old arranger), as well as a slew of tracks arranged by John Williams (yes, the same John Williams who wrote Jaws, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Harry Potter). Personally, i think Damone's tenure on Columbia is his best. A close contender would be his Capitol years (1962-1965), but most of that is out of print. If you want a great sampling of Vic Damone, and want to get it from Sony/Columbia, and not some mysterious bootleg, then you really should get this 3CD set. You will be so glad once Damone's smooth tenure envelops your ears.
