The pictures on the cover tell all you need to know about these guys. Just four hard-working, soul-searching rock and rollers who love to sweat it out for their music. They are the real deal, my fellow music-lovers and if you missed them way back in the sixties here's your chance to relive one of the best. If you don't believe me just sample "Mickey's Monkey/Love Lights" and you'll be dancing uncontrollably to Dino's infectious and powerful drumming and Felix's growling, screaming Hammond Organ. And vocals? Get outta here. They don't make 'em like this any more.

Hey, almost every East Coast band with an organ in it had to do a cover of "More" during the mid-Sixties. Dad paid for the accordion lessons & Mom made sure you practiced & they definitely showed up for the first set once in awhile. The girls liked the song, too, so here you get little Eddie singing his heart out right through the "One More Time" at the end.

This is nearly a live album. Minimal overdubbing, filled out with soul covers, a party album. It has two classic Rascals songs, "Lonely Too Long" & "Come On Up," & opens up with a classic question from the lyrical age of doo wop: "What is the Reason (for falling in love)". I'll be damned if I know - even the immortal Monotones couldn't answer that one - they didn't even know who wrote the "Book of Love."

Fools do fall in love with "Collections" & I'm one of those fools. It's Saturday night at The Barge. The Rascals are tearing up the joint with the music on this here album. Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky.

The Rascals were a great band on record and live. This CD has elements of their live show. The Mickey's Monkey/Love Lights cut and the song, Come On Up, are examples of some of the best music ever made. Dino Danelli's drums are great particularly on the transition from Mickey's Monkey to Love Lights - one of the best drum riffs of all time. This CD was out of print for a long while. I'm glad it's back. Unfortunately, the quality of the recording is not as good as it could be. This CD and other Rascals CDs deserve to be remastered.

in this wonderful group of upbeat music. The drums in "Lonely too long" are out of this world. Other favorites are "Come on up" and "Too many fish in the sea". But their treatment of "Since i fell for you" and "More" showcase their talent fantastically. I got the see the Rascals live at Chippewa Lake Park in Ohio, probably in 1966. Of course I loved them but didn't realize what a great part of rock history I got to witness. Good old days! Only this got 4 stars instead of 5 is that songs are included both in stereo and mono-don't need the mono-had enough of that on vinyl!

I had this as an album in the sixties and couldn't forget their version of MORE. What a rendition. These cats were way cool. I bought the cd as I'm doing with all the music I loved from my youth, and it's still great. I recommend this to anyone who loves the Young Rascals, although I can't imagine any fan of the band not owning this already. If you're not familiar with them, this is a great introduction. It's amazing that people could come up with so much great music every time out, and that doesn't happen much these days, but the Rascals were consistent hit makers and never made a bad record. Not in my opinion, anyway, but I love these guys. Hope their music inspires young musicians to excellence in their output. They mined the best of American popular music. And contributed a rich legacy to add to it. Great stuff.

I had this LP in college and wore it out. When it came out on CD I was thrilled. Gene's guitar riffs on "Since I Fell For You", and "More" are awesome, and his solo on "What Is The Reason", is my favorite guitar solo of all time. I saw the Rascals in 1966 at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh PA. Felix had a long robe on, he looked like Jesus!

this was the party record of 1967. guaranteed
to get the teenagers moving to mickeys monkey.
they were always on the radio and a real dance
club band.
i never understood why the rascals moved from
this gritty drum, organ up front sound (no bass)
to the flower power sound that never suited
them.

Not worth it for the price. Correct album with correct songs but if it was digitally remastered, it wasn't a good job done. Couldn't hear all the instruments and background singing. I wouldn't recommend this unless it is digitally remastered properly.
