This is nearly a live album. Minimal overdubbing, filled out with soul covers, a party album. It has two classic Rascals songs, "Lonely Too Long" & "Come On Up," & opens up with a classic question from the lyrical age of doo wop: "What is the Reason (for falling in love)". I'll be damned if I know - even the immortal Monotones couldn't answer that one - they didn't even know who wrote the "Book of Love."
Fools do fall in love with "Collections" & I'm one of those fools. It's Saturday night at The Barge. The Rascals are tearing up the joint with the music on this here album. Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky.

i never understood why the rascals moved from
this gritty drum, organ up front sound (no bass)
to the flower power sound that never suited

The LP record was in poor shape. It was very scratched , and this very noisy, and looked quite used. That is it would not be graded even as fair per Goldmine Standards. Read morePublished 15 months ago by ralph p ramon

I love the Rascals and this CD has most of their hits. I did not see the need to put both stereo and mono versions, so I think that was a waste.Published on January 11, 2011 by dsimmons
