More About the Author

Rosemary Jones writes fantasy and collects children's books. Her novels for Wizards of the Coast include City of the Dead (an adventure set in the graveyard of Waterdeep) and Crypt of the Moaning Diamond (underground mayhem complete with sorcery and a small white dog). Her latest Forgotten Realms adventure takes place in Neverwinter: Cold Steel & Secrets.

A theater junkie since the age of 4, she now covers the arts in Seattle and has interviewed a truly eclectic and wonderful bunch of creative people over the years. They inspire her to keep typing!

Her short fiction occupies many different anthologies including Cobalt City Dark Carnival (Timid Pirate), When The Hero Comes Home (Dragon Moon), Cobalt City Timeslip (Timid Pirates), Close Encounters of the Urban Kind (Apex), Zero Gravity (Pill Hill), Realms of the Dead (WOTC), and others. Several are now available for Kindle!

Her most recent nonfiction foray was the Encyclopedia of Collectible Children's Books.

In 2012, look for her first superhero YA novel as well as new stories out in a variety of anthologies.

1.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate and valueless, December 23, 2006

This review is from: Collector's Guide to Children's Books, 1850 to 1950: Identification & Values (Paperback)
This book is an embarrassment. Virtually every page of book titles and listings has at least one glaring error. In the area of juvenile series books it is both incomplete, full of errors, etc. Examples are easy to find- Border Boys Series incorrectly dates the publishers, Bobbsey Twins description woefully incomplete, Battleship Boys lists only a few of the titles in the series and does not mention the first publisher which was Altemus, Airship Boys Series fails to note all of the books and both of the publishers. These mistakes are just on the pages I glanced at for series books. I suspect the same errors of commision and omission exist for many other books. Get yourself Mattson's guide for series books and do your own research for anything else. This book does have a nice glossy cover. Totally form over substance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the color photos, February 2, 2010
This review is from: Collector's Guide to Children's Books, 1850 to 1950: Identification & Values (Paperback)
Like all good collecting books, this one still has some gems to offer, especially many color photos not found in the later works -- but the much newer Encyclopedia of Collectible Children's Books is the best bargain for the price. It's also six times as long, listing many of the series and single titles left out for space reasons in the earlier books.
