My algebra is awful. I took this class after a 12-year hiatus from math. I don't remember pre-algebra very well at all. This book assumes not only that you remember pre-algebra, it also assumes that you can jump to conclusions about algebra itself. It briefly describes each function and then jumps into equations that have much more difficult concepts. I needed to get extra help multiple times from friends, and when they consulted the book also, they too decided that it was useless.
