5.0 out of 5 stars New and Improved...and User Freindly
As a high school guidance director in a college-prep HS, I was delighted to see the College Board produce a more thorough and useful guide. It's bulkier than the previous "Index of College Majors" but the typeface and layout are easier to manage. The first part of the book (new), provides in-depth explanations of the majors. This section is clearly and conciely written...

3.0 out of 5 stars Helpful in some ways, but in other ways, not so helpful
The College Board Book of Majors gives a thorough and clear understanding of what each major consist of. That was the only thing I found helpful. This book is bigger than it should be. This review is from: The College Board Book of Majors: First Edition (College Board Index of Majors and Graduate Degrees) (Paperback)
As a high school guidance director in a college-prep HS, I was delighted to see the College Board produce a more thorough and useful guide. It's bulkier than the previous "Index of College Majors" but the typeface and layout are easier to manage. The first part of the book (new), provides in-depth explanations of the majors. This section is clearly and conciely written and gives readers a better understanding of what each major involves and where it will lead. Finally, there's a guidebook that combines career/major information and listings, by state, where these majors are offered. It's not cheap so I recommend going to the library or accessing through a HS guidance office.
