I recently enrolled at a local technical college and this is the textbook for one of my required courses. I wasn't sure how this book was going to help me because I'm already proficient in typing. I do, however, think that this book is excellent for those who have no experience with keyboarding / typing. The instructions are simple and straightforward. The software program that is used is simple and easy to install.

This book is geared to increase your ability to type using the "touch" method. If you're a hunt & peck typist this book will help you learn how to type without having to look at your fingers all of the time. There is ample room for practice and the lessons encourage you to improve both speed and accuracy.

The only thing I don't like about this book and software are the "Paced" practices. It is very easy to get locked into them in a seeminly neverending loop. If you get caught in one just remember that you can always go back to the lesson menu and go forward. You'll have more of the paced practices in later lessons.

Overall I think this is a good textbook for the beginning typist to learn the touch method and improve speed and accuracy.

I bought this for a class which was cancelled. I decided to go ahead and work through the book. I am only partially through the lessons and have increased my typing speed by 14 words a minute. I am sure with the practice pages that this will increase before I am through the whole book. I have used the Reference Manual many times for documents that I have had to type up recently.

Great resource. If you want to learn how to use the keyboard and learn Word 2007, this is a great resource to accomplish this purpose. My only complaint is the cost of the book. I purchased the book at the college library and 3 months later, the book drops 60% in value. I suggest you buy this item used.

I had to get this book for a keyboarding class and it really helped me. I thought that I was a MS Office expert, but it is about formatting letters, reports. Loved it. So useful and will take it with me to my jobs

Excellent workbook for an affordable price. The exercises are easy to understand and follow. The cd shows you exactly what to do.

This is the best book to learn how to type. It's easy and you can take as long as you need to learn, if your doing it by yourself and not with a class. A class does help if your the type of person who needs it.

I love this item! It came in perfect condition and waaayyyy cheaper than the one in my college bookstore..saved at least $60. Very satisfied with this product and price.

Teaches how to progress your typing speed and typing on the home row key. Great for anyone who's career requires you to type better than 20wpm or anyone who just wants to become a better typer.

I learned to type 30 wpm in 30 days! (with 5 errors) but that is just me ticking away for about 30 mins a day. You could do better. You just have to sit down and apply yourself. It is VERY user friendly.

This item is like new. I think some of the compontents were never used. I recieved it very quickly. I am becoming a better typer every day I use this software!
