Somewhat useful....workbook has no answer key,

The Harbrace College Handbook in itself is awesome. I'm speaking from my perspective of owning the Twelfth Edition. I occasionally use it for reference and have used it for review after long periods away from writing.
However, I had no idea what this workbook would provide since there were no customer reviews, so I took a chance and bought it. It's not totally worthless. It does have additional examples and the material is presented in the same order as the sections in the HCH. The workbook's weak point is that there are exercises at the end of each section that won't do you much good because you won't have the answer key. This workbook does not include answers to the exercises. My guess is that only instructors using the HCH and this ancillary had access to the "master" copy with the answers. So, if you want additional examples to supplement your HCH (considering its cheap price), it will provide you some value. It is certainly not meant to replace the HCH, but would be a good supplement. |
