5.0 out of 5 stars The realest!
This is such a funny book and even though things are said in a humorous way, most of what is said is true. I have laughed out loud several times while reading this book. 3.0 out of 5 stars Briefly entertaining.
When I first received this book I thought it would be hilarious, and a nice book to have out on the coffee table for people to pick up and thumb through. At first I was slightly amused, but the book really was disappointing. I didn't feel like they put much thought into it and really didn't make it as funny as it should have been.

I would not recommend the...

This is such a funny book and even though things are said in a humorous way, most of what is said is true. I have laughed out loud several times while reading this book. But besides being so funny it also has a lot of useful stuff in it. There are a lot of tips in it like what is important to pack for moving to a dorm, some quick and easy recipes for those that don't cook, the fastest, neatest way to fold a shirt. What can be better than a book that makes you laugh AND help you out? Anyone that is in, has been in, or is planning to go to college will love it. This book is great!

One thing that I enjoy about CollegeHumor.com is the quality of writing. It seems to be consistently written by very smart people. This book is no exception - it was really funny and well written.

Finally an answer to all those phony and irrelevant inspirational books how your mom/aunt/neighbor likes to load you down with as you prepare to leave for college, namely: "Oh! The Places You Will Go!" "College 101: Surviving Freshmen Year" or "The Bible." Well, "The CollegeHumor Guide..." takes a very irrevrent and exciting look at college life and would certainly make any incoming freshmen reader the toast of his/her hall. It's full of college pranks, stories, etc. to get your buddy excited for the next step or reminiscient of his or her glory days.

this book is awesome...it made me feel relieved about college and what to expect there..while being funny. as a girl, i found more stuff geared towards guys, but only slightly. this book has some really useful stuff in it, like how to do laundry and make the most of the great unknown of freshman year.
im definitely bringing this to college with me, and this book made me even more excited for it. i feel a lot more confident now and a little less scared about college life in general.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where was this when I was in college, March 10, 2008

My first five star review! I recently went on a buying binge for college guides for my kids. I kept this one for myself and read it cover to cover! Eventually I gave it to my son. He loved it too.

I think if you have kids, and you want to give them some street smarts, give them this book and maybe, College 101: The Book Your College Does Not Want You to Read

I think the two books combined say it all about college.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, April 9, 2006
By
This review is from: The CollegeHumor Guide to College: Selling Kidneys for Beer Money, Sleeping with Your Professors, Majoring in Communications, and Other Really Good Ideas (Hardcover)

I am a college student and figured that most of College Humor's book would be filled with vulgar, "irrelevant" nonsense. To my delight, it was, but it also had pictures to match! In all seriousness though, I was incredibly impressed not only by the book's hilarity but also by the validity and usefulness of all the information presented...Calculating how long you have to actually hang out with your "orientation friends"?!the "turkey dump"!?... BRILLIANT...It truly is the guide to college for our generation. I would have loved to have read it before college, but it's almost better to read now simply because you can laugh out loud at how dead-on the entire book really is. The only gift college bound grads should be getting this June.....Well written, truthful and hilarious...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stuff, April 12, 2006

This book is a great bathroom read. It is a hilarious take on college. Much more realistic than most college guides. And much funnier too. It hits all the points that should be hit, partying, drinking games, ways to get out of tests, and girlfriends...all with a ton of humor. I think it should be a staple for any incoming freshman. Very entertaining, and you can pick it up and read it for 5 minutes and go through the whole thing. A nice, light, and funny read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing hilarity, even 5 years after college..., April 10, 2006

Yeah, it's been five years but these guys captured the essence of college like no other. Me and my fiance were reading parts of this book back and forth to each other and dying of laughter. From dorm room hilarity to making friends (and dumping them 2 weeks later) this book is as funny and smart as it is honest. I already have 2 high school grads that are getting this as their gift. I cannot recommend it more highly...

4.0 out of 5 stars Not just a guide to college, but a guide to your 20s, everything you need is here!, June 13, 2006
This review is from: The CollegeHumor Guide to College: Selling Kidneys for Beer Money, Sleeping with Your Professors, Majoring in Communications, and Other Really Good Ideas (Hardcover)
If you're going to college, in college, out of college, thought about going to college, driven past a college, dated someone who once saw a college, or just like movies ABOUT College, the CollegeHumor Guide to college is the best book you can buy, to fully grasp the College experience......

it's not so much a book about college (yeah, the focus IS college, but many lessons apply to life after college as well), as it is a survival guide for your 20s, but it's a fantastic, and genuinely humorous read......the lessons are numerous, and not dry in any way, it's realistic about the real-life college experience (Alcohol, drugs, skanky hookups, friends, frats, beer, etc.)

well worth the price (tho, I did get it for 30% off), if you see a copy, steal it (unless it's mine), buy it, or flip through it at the bookstore/library (THEN steal it), but READ THIS BOOK!

yes, I fully realize in three paragraphs, I used the word "College" fourteen times......

I don't know what everybody is complaining about.....aside from the drug use, and the fact that I was a 'GDI', my college experience was quite similar to this......
