4.0 out of 5 stars Fur Patrol = NZ's Finest, January 25, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Collider (Audio CD)
Ok, i don't like dong reveiws, but this album doesn't have one yet, and it really does deserve one. These days there isn't a whole lot of good rock bands in New Zealand, most of them are pretty boring, or rip-off other bands. Fur Patrol are better than most of them, but ultimatly they are nothing special.

But something about this album makes me give it 4 stars. #1 Is Julia Deans. She is a great front woman. She ranks right up there with all the
international Female rockers. Her voice is beatiful, but still contains that rock vibe that so many voices are lacking these days.

The 2nd reason this album deserves 4 stars is the opener, Precious. The that song is worth the album price alone. The version on the c.d is even better than the radio version (also the note that the video is brilliant, YouTube, Go, Watch, Now), and its just such a cool, original, rocking song. The riff was stuck in my head for days.

For people who liked Pet, this album is more edgy, slightly harsher than its predecessor, but there is still the slow songs that came out so well on Pet (nothing as good as Lydia but fairly good). Its still catchy, ist still Fur patrol, just a little less pop, a little more rock.

This album is by no means a masterpeice, but its one of my fave NZ albums, and if you're loking for NZ music, I recomend this album. Also if u like guitart driven pop Rock, i recomend it to you. Either way, get ur hands on the song Precious, it's a must hear.
