I purchased these two weeks before a cruise to the Bahamas on a whim. I planned to sneak other alcohol on board through a few other choice methods, but I saw these and couldn't resist. They work as advertised, I even took them off and put them on the conveyor belt through the x-ray scanner and security didn't bat an eyelash! Of course, I heard a rumor that the x-ray looks for plastic rather than metal due to bombs not interacting with metal well or something, not sure I buy all that, but I hope so, since... ya know, terrorism. I just didn't want to get ripped off on drinks all week! It's worth mentioning also that they are clearly labelled near the (false) eyepiece, "2 x 8 oz.", which I thought would be a giveaway. I scratched at the white paint a little, and then colored over it with Sharpie. Not sure that would've even been an issue. The other small downside was there are little cork disks in the caps to strengthen the seals, and they come apart rather easily, I got a few tiny bits of cork in my drinks, but nothing too bad. Otherwise, 9.5 out of 10!
