5.0 out of 5 stars Great in baked beans!
When thinking about growing up in NW Ohio, food seemed to be the most remembered. Home made food, not that "Happy Meal" junk.
Most of our family gatherings were centered on a big feast. The best cooks ever in my life were my great grand mother, and my father. My grand mother a Polish/German woman that I'm sure could take shoe leather and make it taste like gourmet...

This is a classic mustard that is OUTSTANDING. I bought the 4 pack figuring it would last me many years in baked beans, egg salads, etc. However, the expiration date on the items was less than 6 months from my purchase date. I've resorted to giving the mustard away.

I'm sticking with Penzey's for spices. This purchase was just wasteful.

When thinking about growing up in NW Ohio, food seemed to be the most remembered. Home made food, not that "Happy Meal" junk.
Most of our family gatherings were centered on a big feast. The best cooks ever in my life were my great grand mother, and my father. My grand mother a Polish/German woman that I'm sure could take shoe leather and make it taste like gourmet food. She used Coleman's Mustard in so much stuff I couldn't list it all.
The next in line for great cooks was my dad. He used Coleman's dry mustard in making his rub for baked ham and in the summer for his famous baked beans.
I was taught by both in the kitchen and elsewhere, we won't talk about. When ever I make baked beans I always use COLEMAN'S DRY MUSTARD, the flavor blends very well and is certainly noticed when missing or substutited. A touch of Colemen's also make a great enhancer to potato salad and salad dressings. Dry rub for ribs, "Forget about it" (said with a thick NJ accent). You won't know what your ribs did without it. It is good stuff and a little goes a long way.
OK, I relinquish the soap box and the memory trail to the next person.

This is absolutely the best product available if you make your own mayonnaise. However, buying it at the local market means taking out a second mortagage. Therefore, buy it online in quantity and save 50% off the local market price.

I use this mustard powder to make homemade mustard. I give it to neighbors and friends and everyone loves it. It's the most important ingredient in our 'secret' family recipe for mustard. People always ask me to make more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, April 26, 2010

It is much cheaper to buy it in bulk at Amazon, than one can at a time at my local grocery store, so that is why I purchase it here. Colman's is a great dry mustard tat I use in a lot of my cooking, from making the topping for a meat loaf, to vinaigrettes and souffles. It lasts a long time sitting in your cupboard, but I store the extras in the freezer to extend the shelf life. Note: this mustard is hot, but much milder than the fiery Chinese mustards you may come across, so Colman's is not a substitute for those.

5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT an amazing price (and product), September 27, 2011
This review is from: Colman's Dry Mustard 4-Ounce Tins (Pack of 4) (Grocery)
This mustard is as good as it gets, and this is the only way to buy it -- I wind up saving about 2 dollars from each tin! Beautiful decorative yellow tins -- I use 'em as pencil holders, and the mustard is the "only" one to use, for beef and beyond.

I will definitely order this product again. We make homemade mustard and like ordering it by large quantity rather than purchasing 2 ounce cans at a time. The order came as scheduled and packaged well. No problems what so ever.

For many years I have been making a special recipe sauce using this mustard. Lately, not only has it become very expensive, but the local supermarkets only carry the 2 oz. size. Buying it through Amazon has cut the price in half!

Life is too short for bland food!

Mix a little of this with water, let it sit for five minutes, and kiss your nasal congestion goodbye! Wow!
