5.0 out of 5 stars From the Back Cover
Colonel Dad and Major Mom? Impossible! Could it be that Major Kate Jennings was going to be Mjaor Mom? And the devastatingly handsome marine she'd had a long distance relationship with was going to be a daddy, Colonel Daddy, that is! Suddenly things were becoming very complicated. Especially now that Colonel Tom Candello was her newly assigned boss.

3.0 out of 5 stars What'd I say?
Cowboys, jarheads, bank r...oh, heck, you've heard it before, and only the second of the above is involved in this book anyway, along with Child's old standby...shotgun weddings shotgun weddings shotgun weddings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, quick read, butterflies included!, October 29, 2002

This review is from: Colonel Daddy (The Bachelor Battalion) (Silhouette Desire) (Paperback)
Hey, if you're looking for rocket science between the covers of a romance novel, um... might want to look elsewhere! :) While this story isn't a Tom Clancy novel, it is a fun read, and on the "Butterflies-in-the-tummy Meter," it rated a good solid three butterflies (on the standard of four!). Heck, the cover alone would have sold me the book. Take one hunky guy, muscles PLUS... tell me he's in the military, get him half dressed... sheesh! Then the contrast there with the baby... awww! But cover photo aside, this was a very cute story with a satisfying ending. Good job, Ms. Child! Exactly what I've come to expect from your writing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Colonel Daddy by Maureen Child (Large Print Silhouette Desire Hardcover), August 9, 2006

This review is from: Colonel Daddy (Hardcover)
Three years ago Kate and Tom met in Hawaii while on R and R ... and had a week-long passionate affair. The sex was so steamy and irresistible that they agreed to meet again the following year for another week-long fling ... and then again the year after that. Except for those three weeks together over a three year period, they have led separate lives, posted at different Marine bases, thousands of miles from each other ... until two months ago, when Kate was transferred to Tom's command. Now she was not only his one-week-a-year lover, she was one of his officers. And they had an issue to deal with - during their last R and R week together, she'd become pregnant ...

Description from the book back cover:

Impossible! Major Kate Jennings was going to be Major Mum. And the handsome marine she'd had a long distance relationship with was going to be a daddy - Colonel Daddy! Suddenly things were becoming very complicated. Especially now that Colonel Thomas Candello was her new boss ... Kate was sure the confirmed bachelor would offer her a marriage of convenience - after all, that was the honourable thing to do. Trouble was, how could Kate ever agree to an in-name-only union when her heart had secretly ached for Tom all along?

4.0 out of 5 stars kind of cute - quick read, May 2, 1999

If you are connected to the military, the marine corps specifically, you will find this book cute. Not a great romance, but pretty good, and reads quickly.

Another of Maureen Childs wonderful story. If you like cute stories, and the Marine's, then you love this story. I have followed all of the Bachelor Battalion stories and love them all. Great book. Enjoyed it 100%.
