5.0 out of 5 stars Literary Tribute to Ian Fleming, November 30, 2006
They say that imitation is the best form of flattery. If so, Kingsley Amis' COLONEL SUN fits the bill. This is the first official Bond novel authorized by another writer after Fleming's death. Kingsley Amis was a fan of Fleming's James Bond novels and he really comes close Fleming's style. Amis' writing actually do not seem like imitation by are more of a homage. His writing in COLONEL SUN appears that he was directly and genuinely influenced by Fleming. I found this novel to be fascinating in that respect. As for why Amis went under the pen name of Robert Markham for COLONEL SUN, I will never seem to find out. Great colorful illustration on the cover of this paperback.

if I did not know better I would think this book was new, with small wear due to being in a major bookstore. I am more then happy, thank you.
