4.0 out of 5 stars Adds to the understanding of colonial history., October 9, 2007
By
This review is from: What People Wore in Colonial America (Clothing, Costumes, and Uniforms Throughout American History) (Hardcover)
Young readers will enjoy this nicely illustrated primer on colonial clothing by Allison Stark Draper. It hits the highlights of clothing history including Puritans, Quakers, and Virginians. The exchange of influence from Native American to settlers is explained, in additon to some information on uniforms and children's clothing. A glossary and web site for further study increases the educational value.

What People Wore in Colonial America is a good addition to a young student's understanding of life in colonial times.
