Colonial Encounters in the Age of High Imperialism is the first book in the Longman World History Series, edited by Michael Adas. This title examines the world-transforming experience of Western imperialism during the period from 1870 to 1914. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great book on colonialism, April 4, 2007
Cook does such a good job with this book. He gives a very good introduction to why the Europeans colonized and then he goes into specific examples or as he call's them "case studies". The case studies are fascinating and the reader develops a new perception on the brutality of colonies.
